The girls came over to spend the night because Monday was MLK day, a holiday from school. Stella kept going out on the deck and barking and digging at the deck. Angie and Gary finally investigated. Yup..... underneath was one of the biggest possum we've ever seen. Gary, of course, had to show Annie. Annie went crazy, and Gary almost killed himself hoisting himself and Annie up for a "lo
ok see".The possum slept thru the entire ordeal.... dogs barking and Angie laughing. The things we do here for entertainment is ridiculous. But hey..... we are city people, so the least animal oriented event is great fun for us. Well, all but the snakes.

Tomorrow, Joyce leaves for Canada. We will miss her so. We always have so much fun when she's here. We try to get in every party, movie, etc. when she's here. Today, Margie, Sheila, Joyce and I went to see "It's Complicated", starring Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep (the best actress of my time) and Steve Martin. It was a great movie. I'm not a Steve Martin fan, so him playing a love interest was difficult for me. Joyce and I decided they should have cast George Clooney in the role Steve Martin played. I would rather it have ended up with her and Alec Baldwin together than Steve Martin, but Sheila and Margie preferred Steve to Alec. To each his own. Left to right....Joyce, Sheila, Margie, Me, Gerry
Gerry couldn't meet us for the movie, she's also already seen it, but she met us for a quick drink at Gloria's. We had a ball for the few minutes that Gerry was there, but did manage to have a good time after she left. I had a tummy ache, so I put an end to the evening a little early. I'm not sure why Sue didn't join us, but she might not have gotten the e-mail in time. Her loss! It was a great movie (two thumbs up..... from everyone) and we had a great meal and conversation.
Sheila is leaving for Jamaica on Sunday morning. Margie started asking Sheila if she needed a ride to the airport.... I tried to shut her up, cause their flight leaves for Atlanta at 5:45 am. I told Margie that she and I don't get up that early for our own flight, much less for Sheila's flight. She then informed me that she knew it was that early.... she wasn't going to take them, she was going to have Ralph take them. Whew.... she had me worried there for a second. That's the Margie I know and love......
Joyce will fly to Jamaica with Sheila's brother on Wednesday, and they're also meeting some of their Canadian friends there as well. I know they'll have a ball. They'll all come back suntanned, and broke........ but will have a ton of memories. Dang.... don't they know the economy is bad?
That's it for tonight. I'm trying to get ready for weekend company. My sisters and their kids are coming in for the weekend. It's Dad's 84th birthday. He knows Janice is coming up from Houston, but doesn't know my other sister, Evelyn, is coming up from Tulsa with her kids and grand kids, and my step Dad Frank. That will make Dad's birthday complete. We'll take plenty of pictures.
Oh.... if you're like me, and got a defective Wii Wireless Guitar for Xmas, you'll know that finding a replacement is next to impossible. The guitar I currently have is selling on eBay for almost $300..... it only cost like $69 new. Anyway, I finally gave up and bought a new game that "includes" a wireless guitar, drum, microphone and game for $159. Gary will crap when he finds out, but hey man.... it's cheaper than buying a stand alone guitar. It amazes me that demand can shoot the price up so quick.
That's it for tonight. By Joyce, have a nice flight. Later, for everyone else.
