My daughter and I love bargains. Her hubby, Eric is used to us looking for them. He found a real deal on Facebook. You had to log in, create an account, and purchase tickets all within a 45 minute time frame. It was sooo worth it. We got 4th row center orchestra seats at the theatre to see Boris Godunov, the opera. The tickets were $155 each, but I got them for $4.99 each. Talk about a steal! Well, in a way. First, I had to take Chloe shopping.
On Thursday, she, Angie, Morgan and I hit the stores running. Chloe found this dress, but Mama said no way.
I, of course, cannot find my dress up outfits. They may have been moved to storage, or Gary has thrown them away. I also, had to buy an outfit. Are you sitting down? Morgan (my own little Sheila) saw Chloe try on one dress, floored us by telling us she wanted that dress to wear. Not only than, she wanted heels. Now, she's only 8, but if that girls wants to wear heels and a dress, we will NOT deny her wish. She just NEVER wants to wear "girlie" clothes. She has plenty of boyfriends, so I'm presuming she is just a slob. A few hundred dollars later, we all had outfits.
Friday came, and Sheila went. Well, she and Mark went to Louisiana with the Dunsmores for a music festival. We got ready for our big night. We all got dressed up.

Of course, Morgan's feet hurt her. She had never worn heels before, and to be honest, my dress shoes hurt my feet. Thank goodness, they have an ART CART. It's a little shuttle that runs from our restaurant to the opera (the Arts District). We got a quick ride back, got our programs, and found our seats. Four rows back, center isle, orchestra section. It was perfect. Two Excited Girls Before the Opera
Now, that was BEFORE the opera. It was in Russian, but they have English translations above the stage. We were too close to read it without looking straight up. That was the only thing wrong with our seats. However, who would have thought it would be a four hour opera, counting the one intermission. We spent intermission sipping champagne, beer, cokes, and nibbling cookies and chocolate. Back inside after only 20 minutes of stretching our legs. Both girls fell asleep shortly after. Morgan went and sat with her Mom and Dad, and Chloe leaned on Gary's shoulder and softly snored. It was sort of cute. I think the people behind me probably thought I had worms, cause I started squirming in my seat. I started hurting all over. That was just toooooo long. We got home around midnight.
Saturday, I was in a golf tournament. Unfortunately, it started at 8am. I played with Gary T. as my partner. It was a stableford. Each of us had a quota of points to earn. I required 15, as did Gary T. Well, it was a terrible day for me. I was tired. That's my excuse. I only got 8 or 9 points. Gary T. only got 3 or 4. Anyway, we were not alone. Out of about 60 teams, only 2 teams met/exceeded their objective scores. We ended up tied for 5th place in our flight. We actually won some money. Yee haw!
Saturday evening, Chloe went over to Sheila's house to tend the cats. She's earning money for her church's mission trip. She had to pay half her own expenses, and her Mom will match the other half, but Chloe has to EARN it herself. So, Sheila's paying her to cat sit. Well, Sheila left very explicit instructions on what Chloe needed to do. We fed the cats, and cleaned the litter box. All was well. Paisley comes over to me, and starts rubbing all over my legs, and purring. Wow, was I impressed. I reached down and let her sniff my hand. She actually let me pet her. She enjoyed it, cause she kept turning around so I could get various spots on her back. Then, her bipolar disorder kicked in. She hissed and tried to bite my hand. I hate that cat. If I had a good cat recipe, I'd have probably killed her. Well, not really, but I'll be damned if I ever offer to scratch or pet her again. Checkers is not my favorite.

Sunday, we had movie night on the deck. Angie borrowed a 20 X 15 foot projection screed, and speakers, etc. We had a fajita dinner on the deck, then watched the movie Secretariat. There were no mosquitoes, and it was great fun.
During Set Up
Just waiting for it to get dark
We had popcorn, pickles and soda. It was great fun. We're going to try it again tonight, I think. We have Cats and Dogs II that we didn't get to watch. It was a school night, and it took longer than we thought for it to get dark.
That's all for my exciting night. I am looking forward to my Las Vegas trip. Sheila and Joyce are leaving for Scotland next Monday, if I remember correctly. I'm off right now to get my yearly pap, bone scan, and breast Cat Scan. What a way to start the day.
Later, and remember......
