Though still not over the sinus issue I developed on the way home from Oklahoma, I do believe I will live. I have also lost 5 pounds.... yup.... I've been that sick. I swear... just laying around and not eating does help one get the weight off. I am going to give myself a couple more weeks, and if still as bad as I am today, I'll go to the doctor. I am better.... just still feel yucky.
I spent the last two days ATTEMPTING to golf. I say attempting, because I shot 105 both days. First day I had a 12 on hole 4.... got in the sand and couldn't get out. The second day, I has an 11 on hole 4. First into a bunker with a tree above it, then a low punch out shot that cleared the lip of the bunker, but caught the cart path and then came to rest in shrubs abutting a bridge. I would have had to take 3 penalty shots to get away from the trees, so I punched out over the bridge, cleared the water, then was in foot tall weeds. I then made a beautiful shot that rewarded with a new bunker. Got out of that only to land in another bunker. GAWD! Finally got out with a lucky 11. On the first hole I played, I played what we all though was my second shot, only to find out mine was on the green. Extra 2 points. Then one out of bounds, and 3 water balls later.... I was annoyed, to say the least. End of the story.... I sucked.
Went home and sulked for a while. Just kidding. Next day, I got up and was kaputzing around the house. I suddenly became extremely weak, couldn't stay standing, laid down, decided I was near death, so I called Angie to take me to the doctor. (Same thing had happened the week before at the cousin reunion in Oklahoma, but that time my vision got really dim.... felt okay after a few minutes.... so I blew it off.) Well, she called the doctor, advised my blood pressure was 95/95, blood sugar 120, and the doctor wanted me to go to the ER right away. Gary was just returning from walking the dog as we drove off. Got here, and it was a real fiasco. I told them I'd had a sinus issue, chronic bowel issues had flared up recently, and they decide to do a CAT scan of the sinus. They find a bleed area near the ganglia, and suddenly I'm being admitted and more CAT scans and MRI's of the brain. My blood pressure was a little lower by then. We get in, the night passes, the doctor comes in the next day and says that they are going to do a few more test and then if all is okay, send me home, as it appears to be an old bleed.
If you know Angela, then you know that she is going to get things her way. They did the testing on my blood that the doctor admitted was standard for all patients and not done on me, they did an echo cardiogram (and declared.... I had a bad sinus infection they'll treat, but I was extremely dehydrated. I also have a small aneurysm that I am to follow up on with a vascular surgeon. I've been on a constant IV, and today my blood pressure was 135 / 70. Yup... steadily climbing. Yeah, I know it's high, but that is what is "normal" for me.
Yesterday, Sheila and I were supposed to go to Frisco and check out the Jimmy Buffet parking for our tailgate event next weekend. I didn't want to alarm her and tell her I was in the hospital, and at the time was thinking that I'd get discharged, so I just left a message that Angie and I were waiting on the doctor and I'd call her when I got home. In the mean time, she has a brain fart and goes to my house to pick me up. Gary ratted me out, and put Sheila on the phone with me. ANYWAY..... so much for my plans. Anyway, she was doing errands, and she went ahead without me and checked out the parking, and she's good to go on how we're going to enter, where we'll be parking, etc. I've been planning one days meals, and she's doing one days meals. We are determined to have a blast... even though Mark will have to work part of the weekend.
We were also supposed to go to Lindale Texas and play in a golf tournament Monday and Tuesday, and she is now going to have to find a replacement for me. Yeah, it is hard to replace ME, but she can't have the best of everything every day in her life. I am going to attempt to get caught up and packed for our tailgating event. I am a good sport and all that, but I am hoping we're not the "sacrificial lamb" when it comes to Texas getting rain. I do NOT want it to rain that weekend..... no matter how bad we need it.
If you're looking for something to do this weekend, come to Dallas. Deep Ellum is having a Tattoo festival. I don't have one, but just saying..... Dallas does have a lot of exciting things to do. The Trinity River Revel, James Taylor is in Grand Prairie, just tons of this to do. I love Dallas, but am still wanting to move. Gary got scared over my hospital visit, and is now wavering on us moving, as well as Angie. I guess I just need to find a different house. I'll see what I can come up with next.
They just came in with my Low Fat, Low Salt, Low Flavor breakfast. Oatmeal (too much fiber for me to try), low fat mild (I am lactose intolerant), fruit that is produced in Thailand (I refuse to eat products not made in USA, Canada, or a few European countries), 1 slice dry toast, 1 scrambled egg substitute, and 4 slices of Canadian Bacon. Well, I'll make a SMALL sandwich with the Canadian Bacon and bread, and turn the rest back in. Angie, after informing me last night that I am going to go to a nutritionist with her and Gary (He rolled his eyes when she said this), brought me low fat low salt popcorn to snack on.... so I will not starve.
About the nutritionist..... Gary told her that instead of him going with us, she should take someone from Subway and Whataburger, cause that's the closest he comes to cooking. Gawd.... I hope it lasts only 2-3 weeks before she gives up on getting me healthy. Gotta run....
Later.... my bacon is getting cold.
