I AM ALIVE AND LIVING LOW

I just want to do a quick post to say that I am alive.  Having a few health problems, but that's normal.  I made a not so smart decision to schedule all of my yearly doctors appointments in October.  I have many, MANY specialists.  I am probably glowing at night.  I've had a pap smear, bone density xray, mammogram xray, knee xray (making sure the knee replacement is holding in there), two different blood test appointments, got a flu vaccine, and yesterday the YAG procedures on both eyes.  My one dermatologist appointment resulted in two different biopsies, one a squamous cell carcinoma on my cheek, the other a benign growth on my chin, which they removed that day.  Damn.... getting old is awful!  Yes, I've finally met my deductible.  Next month is looking better, but I am doubting the logic behind my plan of doing it all in my birth month.

Yes, I'm now a year older than I was the last time I blogged.  I also have a black eye, that I've been telling people is from Gary hitting me.  Of course, anyone who knows Gary knows it's not true.  I woke up with it yesterday, just a small dark pimple sized bump, that happened while I was blow drying my hair.  By the time my hair was dry, it was a shiner.  Yesterday was my eye doctor, and he said it was a bleed.  Ah.... at least I know my Plavix is still working.  I saw Gary T at the golf course today, and he said he thought I had just done a bad job of putting on my mascara.  (Really Gary.... one eye only?)  The eyeliner is all I added, nothing like mascara or eyeshadow.  At least it doesn't hurt.

What isn't normal, is living with a semi completed bathroom and kitchen.  The shower door people seem to have way too much work.  I gave up getting work scheduled by the first Binswanger Glass group in Plano, and after 1 1/2 weeks, I got an estimate from a different Binswanger Glass group in Richardson.  I finally got the estimate from Richardson, and am waiting for Gary to call them.  We decided I screwed up by not buying a new sink, so we're calling in a decorator to help with the kitchen.  Of course, that may not be til after Thanksgiving.

I am going with Angie (my daughter) to Beverly Hills for 3 days the first week in November.  She has to work Wednesday evening, so we're flying out Tuesday morning.  My flight leaves at 5:45AM, ugh, and my return flight is arrives in Dallas at like 11:50pm on Thursday.  Wow, some long days, yah know?

I am seeing a dermatologist at UTSW the following week for some tests.  Then I'm HOPING to get the decorator shopping with me and the bathroom work scheduled for the following week.  I only have one thing scheduled that week, the MOHS procedure to remove the carcinoma from my cheek.  After that... nothing buy Turkey is on my schedule.

So, you've missed nothing since my last post.  Hopefully, something exciting will happen.
