SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Let’s see what I have to share with everyone. Right now, I am at a washateria on Galveston Island. This is our last night here, and I do not want to take this much sand back to my house. Where I left off, first of all, I spent the past couple of weeks in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This is all on a previous blog, Long story short, when you’re 84, nothing goes smooth. Blood pressure problems, low sodium, etc. Finally, she got to go home today. She is doing good enough that she should be able to get back in shape using home health care.
I took her dog, Whitey, home with me when I left, last Saturday. I am going to take it back, and return for another visit this coming week. Stella will be happy, cause she’s very jealous of Whitey. I plan on staying a few days to make sure she’s doing okay. Someone else will stay with her til I get there. On to better things…
Sheila won low net in the Texoma Silver tournament. I had planned on playing the same day, but ended up not being able to do so. Guess it helped Sheila. She shot a net 83. That was cool, but she turned right around and won the Firewheel League Championship as well. I "thiunk" she shot a gross 83. She’s probably been out shopping for a larger sized hat! CONGRATULATIONS SHEILA!
I came to Houston on Thursday night, then came to Galveston with my sister, Janice. They have a travel trailer, and I’ve been wanting one, so we decided I should experience it before I buy. It has been great fun, but just a little on the crowded side. It sleeps 8, but I’d prefer not so many people in one place at the same time. We brought the two g-kids, and she brought two of hers, and our spouses. Eight is a lot, especially when it comes time to cook. I did two breakfasts, and two dinners. Thank goodness for paper plates.
Today, we went on a Kayak tour that I purchased via Groupon. We paddled out for about ½ hour, then had lunch, and we all painted water color pictures. Of course, the girls said Gary’s looked the best. Go figger! Then, I don’t know how we did it, but we managed to paddle back to the start point in about 1 hour. It was against the wind, so we really did well, but I’m already getting sore. After I finish up washing clothes, I’m going to put a heating pad on by back, and drink a beer.
Morgan has a cast on her arm. She had a removable splint, but the bone wasn’t healing, so they put her in a full cast Thursday before we left. Chloe has still got Achilles tendon problems, so their water time has been limited. Unfortunately, GARY let’s them do about anything they want, so we may have to pay for getting Morgan a new cast when we get home. Her cast was still dripping water when I left. That’s an extra expense I wasn’t count on.l
Chloe broke the screen on her iphone 3gs, so I spent $100 betting it repaired Friday and Saturday. It's late and I'm tired, so I'm off to bed.
MONDAY
Chloe wanted to sleep with all the windows open for her last night on the beach. Needless to say, I'm congested this morning. Everything we left outside is wet and sandy, so I'm at the washateria here at the RV Resort. Gary and Morgan are off to McDonald's, and Chloe is still sleeping. The sunrise is again beautiful this morning. I've taken a lot of photos, but will wait till I get a better connections before I post them.
I hurt all over from my kayak tour. That, and I'm fighting misquitos. I have been fairly happy so far with my net netbook/computer. I'm not sure I'm happy with the battery life yet, I'll test it better when I get home. I need to transfer all my short cuts to this PC. I am getting weak from blood loss to the misquitos, think they're just waking up, so I'm going back to the trailer. Have a great one!
