Margie and I left for the golf tournament at Horseshoe Bay Resort Tuesday morning. We took the back roads, so it was a very scenic drive. It took us about 4.5 hours to get there. We went straight to the condo to unload a few things, then on to the golf course to play our practice round.
I pulled a "Sheila", and shot a 106. I'd say it was because of the wind, but I'm not sure that was the reason. Margie shot somewhere around 95. Oh well, had the first round under my belt. We ate dinner at the Marriott. It was good, but a little on the pricey side. $80 for the two of us, and that's without drinking. Well, maybe we each had one, I honestly can't remember.
We went home and went straight to bed. We were both pooped. Got up early Wednesday, and headed to the tournament. I got a blue tote purse, and Margie got a red one as our goodie bag. We played with a couple of girls that Margie was acquainted with. We didn't play very well. I ended up shooting around 95, and managed to beat Margie by one or two strokes. No, we didn't win jack. But, we had a ball.
After the tournament, everyone headed for the yacht club for lunch. After that, we went over to one ladies house. Talk about seeing how the other half live. Her outdoor kitchen was bigger than my entire house. Oh well...... We went out for fish that night. We were supposed to go home so I could attend Sharon M's going away party, but I had a tummy problem, so we just spend the night there. We had wine on the deck, and watched stars most of the evening. Well, stars and deer!
That has to be one of the most peaceful places I've been to. I could get really lazy there. We did come home Thursday morning. On the way, we stopped and bought tomatoes from the valley, and some garden plants. That's it for now. Enjoy the slide show.
