I know what day today is, it’s Saturday, March 8th. I have no idea when I last posted, and have
no way to look it up. Therefore, I will
start out with Last Wednesday, March 5th. Sheila, Gerry, Margie and I all went to play
golf at Frisco Lakes, which is in Frisco… I think. Gerry drove, Sheila and I were in the back,
and Margie was navigator. I will start
out by telling the truth… Yes, I am a middle child. Everything has to be fair, and needs to be
truthful. Well, truth is, Margie sucks
as a navigator. She was telling Gerry
how to get where she was going. We got
close, and Margie told her where to turn.
Well, after driving for quite a while, Sheila and I sort of decided I’d
look up the directions using Google’s Map app that I have on my iphone. Fine…. I tell them that we need to turn left
on (I’m making up the name cause I can’t remember it, and cannot look it up
because I do NOT have wifi Stone Bridge Dr.
Margie announces that we’ve already done that. I explain that we need to go BACK to it, and
turn left to get to the golf course. She
continues to tell us we’ve already done that.
Geez…. Margie (unlike me) cannot wrap her head around the fact that we
need to go back to where we originally turned in to the sub-division, and
continue on, that we turned too soon.
Finally, I think this middle child became a bossy bitch and told he to
just let Gerry listen to me, I was the one with the map, and we were tired of
driving in circles. In order to keep
some semblance of order in the car, they gave in to me. We went back, followed my directions, and we
arrived at the course. I was redeemed as
a know it all. Margie… well she was
still just Margie. Never argue with a
lady who can google.
We were at the course because it was a league function… the
CTWGA league. We were supposed to play a
practice round the day before, but I canceled the reservations because it was
too cold. I was pretty nippy out on
Tuesday. I sort of wished I had canceled
that also, but it was too late when I found out the weather report, and I had
already paid. They don’t provide
breakfast, so we all started the day out with more coffee. Nothing like filling up the kidneys before
you start playing outside where the bathrooms are about 2-3 hours apart. Yup, I was gonna be miserable.
I played fair…. The other three claimed they played awful,
but NOTE….. all three of them won something.
See what I mean? I am probably
the only “true middle child” in the group.
I said I played poorly, and I had the scorecard to prove it. After lunch, and AFTER THE AWARDS WHERE ALL
THE OTHER 3 GALS ACCEPTED THEIR AWARD PRIZES, we head back to my house to drop
me off. Margie had made sure she got the
front seat again, just so she could navigate.
As we neared one of 3-4 possible exits to take to my house, Margie picks
the 75 South exit. DUH! Margie strikes again. Sure, it would take us to my house, but we
had to go down a ways, make a u-turn, and go thru a zillion stop signs. But Margie was gloating in the front
seat. Geez!!!! I don’t know if they had trouble getting to
Margie or Gerry’s house. I never asked.
Chloe called at 4:15 and asked Gary if he could come get her
and her friends and take them to Casa Millagro, as her Mom was going to, but
got stuck at work. Sure he says, but he
needs to see if Mimi will want to do it.
(He doesn’t like eating Mexican food out like he used to) I agree to do it. On my way there, I notice it is 4:35… OH
CRAP… I have a 5pm Physical Therapy appointment. I tell Chloe to hurry out cause I’m running
late for a dr. apt. She saunters out
about 10 minutes AFTER I arrive and have texted her to hurry up. Off we go, with her, Hannah and Lydia, her
two best friends. I decide even if I
could go straight there, that I’d be late.
I call and cancel the appointment.
We eat dinner, and I get the entire check. It is for about $60. Then, we leave so I can take the girls
home. Unfortunately, it is now rush hour
traffic. One lives Northwest of us, the
other lives East of us. All in all, I
got home 1 ½ hour later. I was
pooped. I explained to Gary what took so
long. He was worried, casuse it took
over 3 hours total. Trust me, I already
knew3 that. I get home and start packing
in a franic mode. See, I am supposed to
go to North Padre Island National Sea Shore first thing in the morning, and get
us an RV spot at the Padre Island National RV Park. I ended up only getting about 1/3 of it done,
then I hit the sack. Nothing like
procrastinating.
Got up Thursday morning, and had Gary help me finish
packing. Stella and I finally get
started on the road at 10:15 am. 9 hours
and maybe 15 potty stops for Stella, I arrive.
I did get a fairly decent spot.
They’re all nice, but some are facing the correct way, where I can see
the beach from out the back windows. I
don’t do much setting up, I was too tired.
Got up Friday morning, and it was beautiful. I kaputzed around and got everything set
up. Then I took Stella to the beach for
a walk. Well, we’d gone about 1 ½ miles,
and she decided she wasn’t going to walk again. Great… I was tired also. I carried her most of the way home. We had a dinner of hot dogs for dinner,.
Hey, like I said, I was tired.
Stella and I called it an early night.
Got up this morning, and a little cloudy, but 70*. I take Stella for a morning walk, she did
fine. Then we came back and I managed to
get the cellular antennae up and running.
It’s working out good for cell service, but no wifi. I visited with a man I met last year on
Spring Break. It’s sort of comforting to
know
“someone” here, just in case. It has started raining… that means Gary, Angie and the Girls can now officially arrive. Later…. I’ve got to get the dog in.

THAT POST WAS THEN.... THIS POST IS NOW....
Here it is Tuesday, and I'm finally trying to post again. Angie, Gary, Chloe and Morgan arrived. Yup... the weather has been nasty ever since. The truth... we've only had one really bad day. Sunday. That's the day "they" went to see the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier ship. They all loved it. I loved it too.... time to myself, after cleaning up the place a bit. I like things to be in their place...... it just ain't gonna happen when them all here. But, it I didn't try.... never mind.
I haven't been out too much. It is just too cool for me. Yesterday, Chloe and Morgan and Gary went out in the water. They rented some wet suits. We brought ours, but they're too thing for this weather. They got the heavy duty suits. Today (Tuesday) was the most beautiful day you could ask for. Just fantastic. They went kayaking and boarding. I can't say surfing, cause they're body boards. I was down for a while, but I got too cold. I did take a few pictures. They came up later, and we ate burgers for dinner.
Then, the fog came in.
I have never seen it roll in like it did. We even saw it make a
rainbow. I took a few pictures. Here are also a few pictures that
Angie and I took.
OK, forget that.
An hour later, it is still attempting to upload one picture. I will
post them later. Tomorrow is Angie's Birthday. I think the plan is
to go in and rent dune buggies (modified golf carts). Hopefully, I can
get better wifi tomorrow.
Later.....W
