Busy Thursdays

My last post was about Sheila and I winning the team best ball tournament. The Wednesday after that, I played with the Telco and shot a 41, which is very good for me. I did that in spite of a 7 on the last hole. Gary T was my partner, but we didn't win the team competition. My 41 was good enough to win me low net for the day. Wow.... I won 2 free golf balls. Oh well.

Saturday, I held my couples tournament. Sheila and Mark played, and I ended up playing with Chloe as my partner. We didn't do well, but we were NOT last place. Matter of fact, we fared fairly well. A 19 won, and Sheila and Mark had a 23, so Chloe and my 25 came in rather good for an old lady (me) and an 11 year old. There were 22 couples there.... my biggest tournament yet. I gave away $210 in prize money.

It's been grand kids and grand dogs all week. The girls have been in vacation bible school, but Chloe spent Tuesday night, Morgan Wednesday night..... one of them is always here. It's really fun though, so believe me, I'm NOT complaining.

Yesterday, Sheila, Gary T, Carlos and I played our usual Wed. Telco golf. I shot a very nice 40. It was so cool. Sheila and I both birdied the hardest hole there..... we're sooo good. I stayed pretty steady.... no birdies, but nothing terribly bad. Oh, unless you count the hole where I went into the water. Sheila and I both have changed golf balls to the Sleszinger Golf Balls (not sure of the spelling and don't have one in front of me). They really fly off the face of our clubs. I think my ball goes further than ever with the new balls. Sheila found them at Dick's on sale, got some, loved them, bragged to me, then went back and bought both of us more.

While I was talking to Sheila, I mentioned that I don't post like I used to. The truth is, we haven't been doing a lot of things together like we used to. We don't play Mah Jong on a monthly basis. I personally think it's because Sheila works. Dang, I still wish she'd get fired. Then we could do more together.

I went to the doctor today for my cough. I have a sinus infection that is draining into my bronchial tubes..... hence bronchitis. I also have water on the right ear. I started steroids and antibiotics today. I'm still coughing my heard off, but hope to be better by tomorrow. I am also doing a nebulizer inhaler thingy. I just want to be well for my vacation to New Mexico with Angie and the girls. We are supposed to leave Monday morning, and return no later that a week and a half later. Along with all that, I got a handicap parking permit. That should make it easier to travel. I already know that sitting in the car for 2hours at a time is going to make it really difficult to walk when I first get out of the car. Angie has sworn that she will bring over her packed suitcases so I can pack the car Sat. and Sun. I hate to wait until the last minute.

Sheila is headed off to Colorado for the weekend. Boy, those Canadians sure do like their "holidays". If I remember correctly, they're flying to Denver, then renting a car so they can drive to Boulder. I don't know if she's aware of it or not, but they got 6 inches of hail there today. I must remember to call her tomorrow and tell her.
