Had a pretty uneventful type of past few days. I got a call Monday afternoon from the Ford place. Good news, they were successful in removing the spark plugs, so it was only a little over the $300 they approximately quoted. Bad news, there was a broken hose on the AC that is NOT covered by warranty. It cost over $300 for the part alone. The fact that it ran for too long with the broken hose caused the compressor to burn up. Good news, the compressor is covered by my Easy Care Warranty. Bad news, it will take a couple of days to get it fixed. Good news, Easy Care provides me with a car rental. Bad news, it's a "beeping" 2012 Ford Focus. What a piece of crap.
If I accelerate from a dead start, like a "normal" person, it pauses every time it shifts gears. It's like a whip lash on the pause. Mainly cause I don't want to wait the 4 or 5 seconds when the car seems to screech to a halt while shifting. I did find a work around. Just put the pedal to the metal, and once it's finished shifting (like in a normal car), you let off the gas. It only happens thereafter if you want to accelerate. How can people stand to drive a no horsepower car?
Anyway, long story short, they called and said it would be ready at 1pm. I also need to return the rental car. Since it's hot (again) in Dallas, and tonight is AT&T golf night, Gary and Sheila and I decided to play only 9 holes. Gary will pick me up around 3pm. That probably means I'll get there at 1pm to pick up the car, and it won't be ready until 3:45. Whatever. I still don't know the final total, cause they also changed the windshield wipers, front and back. Also, there is a deductible on the warranty work. Whatever..... I just want my own car back. My hubby Gary doesn't like for me to drive his truck. Never has, never will. Of course, it's okay if he drives my car.
Before I forget, when I say "Gary", I usually mean my hubby Gary. If it's about golf, it's the "other Gary", Gary T. I guess you just have to read the context to figure out which one I'm talking about. I'm sure it does get confusing.
Gary has had Morgan in softball camp the last two days. Therefore, I had to take Stella on her morning walk today. It was hot. After I came back, I weighed, which I don't normally do. After all, why depress myself. I have been pain free ever since I got the injections, and have not done any workouts with Billy. I was supposed to take a week off, to give the joints a rest. Next week, I plan on trying the gym again. Anyway, I have lost another two pounds since I got back from Vegas. Now mind you, I always weigh with shoes, iphone, etc. That's how I do it at the doctors office. My "new" lifestyle seems to be working. Course, the beer drinking isn't helping, but other than that, I'm doing fine. Doesn't seem like a diet. I just try and eat carbs at one meal only. If I have bread, like in a sandwich, that's the end of the carbs for the day. Last night I indulged in a baked potato with butter. I haven't done butter on anything in a while. That's another thing I pretty much gave up. I wasn't really trying to lose weight for all the right reasons, I was only trying to do it to help my knee. Whatever..... guess it doesn't hurt to try and eat better.
The heart doctor, in addition to putting me on Celebrex for a couple of weeks, also put me on Protonix (spelling?) for my indigestion problems. I've had to go back on the Plavix, but my stomach is not bothering me since I started the Protonix. While reading another med I take for the ulcerative inflammatory colitis to make sure it didn't interact with the Protonix and Plavix, I saw that it can cause shingles and skin eczema. I've been having a real problem with it getting really severe at times for the last year. LIGHT BULB! So, on my own, I've stopped taking it to see if my leg eczema will clear up. I'm gonna try it for a couple of weeks. Curious if it will help.
Gosh, have you had enough automobile and medical reading? Guess it's a sign I need to get a life. Think I'll quit blogging and do something productive.... maybe play WWF with Lisajka, my WWF buddy in Mississippi. Later, and have a good day.
