CHRISTMAS EVENING @ ANGIE'S

Angie's Christmas Evening Party for the Gibbons' Clan was "supposed" to start at 6:00 pm. If you know any Gibbons', you know they're perpetually late for everything. Lori sent out the info that it'd be at Angie's, and it would start at 6. The first guest (other than Gary & me) arrived at 7:10 pm, it was Amy. Guess she was early (considerning the start time) because she's an in-law. The last to arrive was Sandra, Gary's sister, and she strolled in at 9 pm. That's what the Gibbons' call socially correct, not being too early, nor too late.
There was more than enough to drink and imbibe. Everything to eat from Brisket, to Brownies. Everything to drink, from Hot Mulled Wine, to Cranberry Champagne Spritzers. They guys hung out mostly by the fire pit in the back yard and drank beer. Smoke and flames.... a man thing. Ah, nothing quite like the smell of Pinion Wood burning on the grate. The women basically stayed indoors, where it was warm.

The gift exchange went well, and the women's surprise gift was Lori's favorite wine, which came with Cranberry Salsa (homemade), pita chips, and Brie. Lori's favorite wine is the one Sheila brought over for Thanksgiving, and got Angie hooked on. How weird is that? The guy's favorite gift was probably a tie. The cash Loyd gave everyone.... second only to Gary's super grab-it tool with LED probe, or some such crap. Basically, it's the thought that counts. The kids always make quite a haul.

Early to bed for everyone after that.... maybe 1am. Oh my.... can't wait until tomorrow.

HO HO HO!
