I need to go to Medical School.....SIGH

It was warm yesterday, so we didn't have to worry about the heater. I did have a fairly good day yesterday. Didn't do much of anything, except stayed up and read a book til about 1am this morning. Angie called in the middle of the night because Annie was breathing so hard, and still couldn't keep anything down. We decided to take Annie to the Vet first thing in the morning.
Speaking of this morning..... my phone rang at 7:45 am. It was a neighbor calling to tell me that my Dad had fallen in the street, and they'd call 911 for an ambulance. They live around the block right next to Sherrill Park Golf Course, so he wasn't that far away. Gary and I flew out the door in our PJ's. Gary was scared to death, even more so than I was. Anyway, the ambulance was already there when we arrived. They recommended Dad go to the emergency room for stitches in his chin. I came home dropped Gary off and got dressed. To the ER DAd and I went.
Here is a pix is of him waiting to be treated. You might notice the swelling already on his cheek.

The swelling was so bad, they decided to put ice on it while we waited to get stitches.
Here's what happens when you get tired of holding the ice bag in place.
The Xrays showed no brain, wait, they said no brain damage, the shoulder needs to be seen by an orthopaedic doctor, his hand is okay, and his cheek is okay. They did have to stitch up his chin. While we were waiting to be discharged, Angie called and the Vet said it was either a blockage or something more serious. She was crying. I told her I'd come there as soon as I got home with Dad.
Dad now looks like this....

Off to the Vet. They pumped Annie with pain medication, and she settled down. After two series of xrays, they've found something in her stomach. It is a mass.... they don't know if it's something she's eaten, or a growth. We're home with her now (1:00 pm), but we go back at 4pm for another round of xrays. Yes, we will accept money donations to cover the Vet bills. GASP!
She is now keeping down liquids, and is high as a kite. She's playing, etc. The vet said it was the drugs. Angie and I asked for some of what they gave Annie, but the cost was too much for either of us. Annie is allowed to drink water, but nothing solid. She's going crazy looking for food. The living room carpet around Dad's chair is now crumb free, and Annie is now licking every inch of the kitchen floor.
That's it for the morning. I'll post later this evening. By the way, the pix of Angie and Annie in the vet is AFTER she spent the night crying about the dog. We do love our Annie.

OMG! I saw a man that looked exactly like this. It was a picture about 45 years ago. But... this man had foiled a robbery at a Crown Drug store in Kansa. I was told the robber looked worse.
