MORGAN's X-MAS PARADE

We slaved all week making a pink horn for the unicorn that was going to be made for Morgan's gymnastic team's entry into the Plano Xmas Parade. Her team is named the Pink Unicorns. Now, I'll admit that in the beginning, I was doubtful that the fathers of the girls (who are supposed to be doing all the work) could make a white pick-up look like a pink unicorn, but I was not getting the big picture, so Eric told me. We glued and foamed and glued and foamed in the garage till we couldn't breath. We finally finished the Unicorn Horn. (The garage is also wall to wall Christmas ornament boxes that need to be addressed.)

Okay.... here's what we started with....... a shower curtain, spray gap filler foam, a small piece of cardboard, and $100. We used mainly my creative ideas, and Angie's labor, except she doesn't sew. Honestly, we thought it looked a lot like a pink ice cream cone, or else a pink Xmas tree.

This morning, I got up at 6 a.m. to make coffee for Gary and me, we read the paper, Gary loaded chairs into the car, and we left to get our special spot at 8:30. Gary likes to wait until the last minute for everything. We got into a bind because all the streets were blocked, and we got to the parade route at 9:05 am. That's okay though, cause it took 2 1/2 hours for Morgan's group to arrive. We were at the end of the route, a few blocks south on Independence at Spring Creek Pkwy in Plano.

The wait..... on the shady side of the street, facing the wind, cause I wanted the sun shining on my subjects. We froze our buns, and with me, that's a lot of buns to freeze.

The first non-police, non school bus, non-semi, entry that passed us was about 9:30 or so. It was a LONG parade. Morgan was bringing up the rear.

All this, for the 10 second video.... but it was priceless. Look at what they call a unicorn truck... heck, Morgan would have had more imagination than that. Oh well.... MEN!

Morgan is in the center of the pick-up bed, in the middle, closest to the front cab, in a coat with dark blue trim. She was in 7th heaven.
