SHEILA....FINALLY NOT THE SHORTEST IN THE CROWD

Thursday was a day for parties! I went to the FWGA luncheon, where we did the infamous Christmas Gift Exchange. This year, there was a twist. Helga.... or was it Heidy (nee Sheila Caws Coles).... anyway, she put us on a stop watch. Everyone had drawn numbers.... luckily, I got number 3, and then they start with number one. That person had one minute to select a gift and open it. The next person could steal that gift, or get an unopened, unwrapped gift from under the tree. So on, and so on. The only twist is, once a gift was stolen twice, it was dead, and couldn't be take again. I stole a Christmas Santa Statue (they're really popular). Number 4 took it, so I got another unopened gift.... another Santa decoration.... which was promptly taken again. I finally gave up and selected the gift I took..... a Santa Box filled with candy. Someone opened a pink flamingo, about 3 feet tall, that was decorated with Christmas wreath and Santa hat. It was darling.

Anyway, I schemed with my table mate, and she stole my gift and I managed to snag the flamingo after it had been stolen once. IT WAS MINE!!!!!! Sheila naturally got a dud gift.... a nativity scene. Wait, it's not what it sounds like, or maybe it is. Anyway, I knew she'd kill for the flamingo, and I got scared and traded her for it. I mean, she could have slashed my tires or something like that. Anyway, we both ended up happy.

She ended up offering to drive me to the Frisco party, held at Sharon Miller's beautiful house. Nope, not her Canadian main residence, nope not her Casita in Mexico.... just the Frisco house. They also had a Christmas gift exchange, and again, Helga/Heidy... whoever.... ran that one. I swear, she is the gift exchange Nazi! She runs a tight ship.

Friday, I nursed the start of a cold. I did manage to edit and upload all the party photos to Picasso, and that was a big task. Today, I've hung out at the house. Tonight is the FGA Banquet at the Club House. Sheila, Margie, Mark and I are going. I may ask Gary.... like he'd go if I didn't force him. Other than that, I've got all my packages wrapped, and now I just have to start cleaning house. Does that sound familiar? It's because I just can't get inspired to do one armed cleaning.

Later...... and it looks like the Frisco bunch is at it again. Another party next Wednesday. Will the fun never end?????? I have an appointment for Dad at the eye surgeon, and I am going to try and move it. It's a sacrifice on my part..... but it's the least I can do. SMILE!
