UNLUCKY GOLF - LUCKY GOLF

UNLUCKY GOLF
Guess you shouldn't call it unlucky golf just because we didn't score many points.

Kathy W and I represented FWGA in an inter-club match-play event held at Thorntree CC. I have NEVER played on such difficult greens in my life. Not one of them was flat, they were all about 20 degrees minimum slant, and faster than any greens I've ever played.

We'd never played or seen the course before, so some hidden water hazards came in to play several times for me when shooting around blind dog leg fairways. When all was said and done, FWGA came in last place, with 3 1/2 points out of a possible 24. Kathy and I earned 1 1/2 point out of a possible 6, one other team earned 2 points. The rest were zip. Oh well, we had great fun. I played with two fun ladies from Brookhaven.

I also saw one lady from Brookhaven that I knew, and of all people, Ray M (friend of Gerry & Don W) that I'd met and once played with in a golf tournament held at Chase Oaks.

LUCKY GOLF (TAKE THAT SHEILA ! ! )
I had received an invitation to Golf Galaxy Ladies Night, and invited all the gals. Only Margie and Sheila wanted to go. After golf, I spoke with both Margie and Sheila, and Sheila needed to back out. Margie and I went alone, and Margie drove. I won the drawing for the door prize.
A $100 GIFT CARD
I'm glad Sheila wasn't there, cause she's so damned lucky she would have won it. Thank You Sheila, and that's payback for cheating with the dog at the wine tasting!
Margie and I both met several ladies that we knew from various golf clubs, and we all went to Mario's Chiquita for drinks afterwards. Regardless of Margie's driving (I am saying no more.... and no she didn't get tipsy!) I arrived home safely. It was a successful night!
