Today was the first play day and we were all eager beavers, so we arrived at the course around 7:30 am so we could practice. As soon as we got our carts loaded, it started sprinkling, then lightening, then thunder, then downpour. We ended up going to the clubhouse and having a complimentary breakfast while we waited for the rain to subside. Our 9:00 start time ended up getting pushed back to 10:15 ish. We all four played fairly well, not lights out, but none of us did too terribly bad.
They have every tee box decorated with flamingo's, flowers, and tiki
torches. It is just darling.Gerry and I decided to stop at one of the bathrooms. I met the cutest blow-up flamingos. I'm not sure why one was on top of the other, but you all can decide for yourselves what they were doing.
One bathroom had beach chairs, huge margaritas, and a ton of sand on the entry way. Inside, they had margaritaville type music blaring. It is just too much.
Sheila is never bored, nor lacking of ways to entertain herself while we're waiting to tee off. It was a bit slow
because it was cart path only due to the rain. Anyway, as I was saying, Sheila got bored. She decided she could out-run some of the flamingos that were on our tee box.On your mark..
Get set....
WHOA!
You be the judge!
Is Sheila sniffing the flamingo?

Is Sheila kissing the butt of the flamingo?
All I know is it wasn't a pretty site.
Today was Judy Geary's plenty-ninth birthday.
We surprised her with a birthday truffle, complete with candle. In case you didn't know it..... she was in the top 5 of the Miss World contest a few years back.
We had a drink while we waited on them to post the results.
we realized we had a few friends there....
Linda Long & Ginger (I don't remember her last name)
Sharon Miler (in the green shirt, looking away from the camera....dang it!) in from her primary residence in Canada, or was it her Casita in Mexico? Either way, she was staying at her Frisco house.
It was finally time to check the scoreboard. Sheila and Linda Beyer were having a discussion to determine if the Bloody Mary's Linda's team drank during the rain delay could have affected their playing. Last year they came in first. This year, no one on their team scored a par. I'm not sure about them, but I think it did. I'm also going to try and get them to let me buy them a Bloody Mary in the morning.
Here are the scoreboard results for the entire field.
1st place low gross 157 (flight 1 team)
2nd place low gross 158 (another flight 1 team)
3rd place low gross - a 3 way tie
162 (flight 1 team)
162 (flight 2 team)
162 (flight 2 team THAT BE US !!!!!!!! The TOUCAN flight)
1st place low net - 118 flight 2 team THAT BE US !!!!!!!
The closest score to us was a 123, then a couple of 124's.
We were amazed that we'd done that well. Now, we just have to hand loose tomorrow.

3rd Flight - Flamingo's
