Anyway, we got there on time... promptly at 6pm, and I started drinking wine. Sheila, Gary and Mark finished off their Bloody Mary's before they joined me on the wine. Sheila made a fantastic Clam Spaghetti Sauce. All from scratch, I was impressed cause it was one of the best sauces I've ever tasted.
After dinner, Sheila brought out the piece d'resistance. MY BIRTHDAY CAKE that she hand made for me. If you saw last years blog, you'll know that she made me a golf ball cake. This year, she outdid herself. Here is my birthday cake.
Sheila created her and my images, and put our face pictures on them. That's me.... closest to the pin with my "marshmallow" golf ball. Note, she's in the sand with hers. It was sooooo cute. This was a lot more creative than the last one. Well, I don't mean that bad, cause the golf ball was fine (remember the golf bag that had an appendage hanging on it?). I know Joyce must have taught her to do this!
The blue toothpick indicates the 200 yard marker, and the red toothpick is the 100 yard marker. It must be accurately portrayed. Julia Childs had nothing on this gal.
We all played "42" (for you non-Texans, that's a dominoe game a lot like spades.... bidding and naming trump, getting set, etc.). Sheila and Mark picked it up really quickly. I love that game.... not as much as Pass The Ace, but it's really close to that.
Before I forget, Mark laid a wooden floor in his office. It looks really good. To cap off the evening, Sheila gave me a birthday goodie bag. I got a DS Lite game, and my favorite, a doggie. It's a USB doggie. I just had to include a video, cause it's too hard to describe.
Thank you Sheila and Mark. You made my day!
