OKAY! OKAY!

Well, we know the Canadians are reading the blog..... wait, I mean editing. Okay, I did have one small error, well two or more, but they brought up one big one. So, Crosby plays for the Pitt. Penguins. Now, here's a good question.... how do you spell his first name? The web has multiple spellings, but I used Sydney, so I was probably wrong on that one also. Here are a couple of examples.....

WIKIPEDIA ENTRY.........
Sidney Patrick Crosby ONS (born August 7, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Crosby was drafted by the Penguins out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) first overall after earning back-to-back CHL Player of the Year awards and leading his club to a berth in the 2005 Memorial Cup during his two-year major junior career with the Rimouski Océanic. Nicknamed "The Next One",[1][2] he was one of the most highly regarded draft picks in hockey history, leading many to refer to the 2005 Draft Lottery as the "Sidney Crosby Sweepstakes".[3]

Okay, let's see.... what else did they bring up?? Here are some exerts from their email (dang, they do get testy)

"Thought I would provide you some some hockey information since your facts in your blog are a bit off. It is the Pittsburgh Penguins, not Detroit Penguins that Crosby plays for in the NHL. Of all the NHL players, approximately 50% are Canadians, 15% are Americans and the rest made up of players from Europe and Russia. There are 30 NHL teams, 6 are based in Canada. Team Canada had 24 players, 2 play for Canada based NHL teams.Team USA also had 24 players and again, only 2 play for Canada based NHL teams. The chances of any goal scored by a player from a Canadian based NHL team was pretty slim so it should be no surprise, the winning goal was scored by a player who plays on an USA based NHL team. Fortunately, this player was Canadian, playing for Team Canada. Go Canada!!!!!!!!!

"The hockey game....gloat??!! I'm Canadian, we are way too polite to gloat and kick a person when they are down!! Besides what's to get excited about? It was a forgone conclusion, was there ever any doubt as to the out come??!! The US beat Canada at hockey in a game that matters.....HA, .like that is ever going to happen!"

Another...

"I now have a new decoration on my fireplace mantel....Shrine to the Hockey Gods. I'm sure it is what made the difference in the tournament, as the Canucks didn't loose a game after I built it."

That one came with this pix.....

See, they were sweating bullets worrying that their team wouldn't make it. I mean, we didn't resort to building shrines...... Hey, maybe that's what we did wrong.

Okay, I may have gotten a few facts screwed up..... Even Gary (hubby) knew the names of the Penguins and Red Wings....Oh well, this I know for sure about Canadians...

They do love their shrines, which they build at the drop of a hat.....

But one thing for sure... if they're your friends, you gotta love them!

From now on, I'll forget blogging about hockey games..... I still think I'm good on political bumper stickers.....here's one for closing....
