I’m blogging now from Cushing, Okla. I’m going to back track and get current.

Tuesday I took Dad to the hand surgeon, and he declared him good to go, unless something comes up. I went to my primary care doctor for a follow up and bragged about how I’d been free from Tummy Problem For Over Two Months! (Still occasionally, but not every day for ever like it used to be) After seeing her, I had to visit the gastro doctor, and told him the same thing.

Wednesday, I woke up and took my coffee out on the deck to enjoy the nice morning. You can tell it's spring, cause the bugs are out. This pix is self explanatory.

I take a pix of it, then all of a sudden..... WHOA! A huge snake was against the double doors to my bedroom. I called Gary on his cell (I didn’t want to leave the scene in case the snake hid while I was trying to find Gary) and had him come kill the snake. This snake, when approached, puts off an odor like that of a skunk. PEE-YU! After killing it, we looked it up and decided it was a stubby tailed poisonous water moccasin. Gary dumped the head and body (we separated them to kill the snake) into the creek. For some weird reason, I started having tummy troubles.

In the afternoon, Sheila, Gary T and I went to Keeton Park to play with the Telco league. We three played a game where you get points for hitting fairways, greens in regulation, putts in regulation, etc. Sheila has never had much golf success with Keeton Park, but Wednesday, she overcame her bad golf there, and played fantastic. She won money off of both Gary and me. I accidentally left my putter at home, so I borrowed one from the golf shop. NOTE…. They made me leave my drivers license as a deposit. I am using that as an excuse for Sheila beating me.
After we three played 9 holes, we were joined by everyone else. Carlos and Sheila teamed up and Gary T and I teamed up. Sure enough, Sheila didn’t shoot again as well as she normally does. I’d say I beat everyone except Carlos, but I can’t remember the scores. We headed back home.

Thursday morning, I got up and again decided to have coffee on the deck. I also saw our first home grown tomato of the season was ready for picking.

I turned around to put my coffee on the table, and almost stepped on a snake. Again I called Gary to come save me. (I always carry my phone in case Dad has fallen and needs to call me) Again, we killed the snake. This one wasn’t poisonous, but we did it anyway. The only good snake is a dead snake, as I always say. W(e dumped it in the creek by the other one. By the way, my mother always said that a snake doesn’t die until sundown, and I believe her. When we dumped the second one (again the head was separated from the body), the first ones body was coiled up…. Nothing like when we dumped it. Hmmmmmm

Still tummy trouble, but I start packing for our trip to Okla for Dad’s family reunion. Chloe is off to the lake for a holiday trip with her best friend. Angie and Morgan are going with me.
Friday, I get up and my tummy is bad. I still manage to get packed, and Dad asks me to fly him there so he can have time for a visit with his family. I won’t go blow by blow into our discussion, but I told him no. Angie, Morgan, Dad and I head off for Okla at 3:15. It took us 2 hours to get to the Red River. What a slow trip. Morgan falls asleep, Angie gets car sick, and Dad takes to reading me every sign on the trip.

We stop at a rest stop, cause I’m still having tummy trouble. We no sooner get back on the road than Morgan wakes up and announces that she has to pee and cannot wait. There is no bathroom for several miles. Finally, she can’t wait any longer and declares she’s about to wet her panties. Angie takes a drink cup and helps Morgan pee in the cup. Whoops, Morgan tries to stand up and starts peeing on the seat. Angie gets even more nauseated by the scene, and it’s utter chaos in the back seat. Dad and I are laughing in the front seat. Whatever….

We decide to stop and eat some dinner. Great food at Marie Callendar’s in Norman, OK. Dad starts calling everyone to tell them where we are, and what we’re doing. Then, he calls them again and again every 20 minutes. Finally, he announces that he’ll just go to Franks with us for the night and will come over in the morning. Angie gets upset and reminds me that I’m ill and a lot of car driving is not going to be fun.

I think about it for a while, and tell Dad we’re taking him, period. They are working on I35 all the way, and traffic is still terrible. We get to Lorine’s house, and call her and tell her we’re there. Dad can’t wait to go to the restroom, so he’s off peeing in the yard. It took Lorine about 20 minutes to get from her room to the door. We drop him off, and we get to Franks house around 10:30. What should have been a total of no more than 5 hours turns into a little over 7 hours.

We get up and head to Tulsa to pick up my great-niece, Megan so she and Morgan can play all weekend together. We get about ¼ of the way there, and Dad calls wanting me to come get him, he’s bored. It’s about an hour and a half trip from here to there and back. I tell him I can’t do it until later tonight. Gasp! We pick up Megan, and head back to Cushing. Angie made a picture taking stop in Drumright. I’m groggy because I’ve taken pain pills so I wait in the car.

We get back to Franks house and the phone rings. It's Dad wanting me to come get him. He's ready to come to Franks. I ask why, and he said he's tired of being gone and isn't it time we went home. ??????? Further questions, and I find out he doesn't know what day it is. He thinks he's been to the reunion and been there for 3 days. He is so confused he doesn't know anything. GASP! Just too much excitement is all I can think. I talk to my Aunt Liz and find out that he left Lorine's with them, and he's in Ponca City at their motel. He checked in, then checked out again cause it was time to leave.... so he thought. I reassured him of the day, etc. I promised him I'd come get him tomorrow.

My Mom's family is coming over to Franks tomorrow night to visit with us, and my sister Evelyn is also coming over with her extended family. Angie and I cooked goulash, potatoes, got our salad ready, and we're almost ready now for everyone to eat with us. I did some housework at Franks. I had to go to the store, cause Morgan has broken out in a severe red rash all over the upper portion of her body. She says it itches. Off I go to buy some allergy medicine. While at the local grocery store, I decide to stop at McD's and blog. I have decided that blogging is very therapeutic..... excuse the spelling if it's wrong.

I've decided when I go home I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. Sometimes, the entire thing is just too much for me. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my darling daughter. We have so much fun together, but she's also my rock when things get hectic like they have on this trip. I am sooooo lucky.

Enough of the pity party. I'll take pix of the reunion tomorrow, get pix of the last three of Dad's family, their kids and grand kidsm then head home of the Sneed (my Mom's) side of the family. It should be an interesting day. Monday, we'll head to Mom's grave site to put out flowers. Then while we're doing that, Dad will get to see his monument. We paid for it last year, and it finally got installed last month. He's really anxious to see it. Honestly, so am I. It is different than any either of us had seen.

Later... I'm off to Franks. By the way. He isn't there. He's in Colorado at their other home. Don't think I ever mentioned that before. He's so sweet about letting me take over his house. The dinner party I've planned tomorrow night reminds me of Sheila's surprise Super Bowl party I held at her house. Gawd..... I love surprises!\
