Me, Myself, and Eye

It's a sad day.  Davy Jones dies today, age 66.  You know, the Monkey's Davy Jones.  One of my favorite songs.... I'm a Believer.  He may not be missed in the music world, but he'll be missed in my world.

Monday, I had a cataract removed, and a Lens Implant.  It was a piece of cake, I think  They don't put you to sleep (full anesthetic), but I had enough Happy Juice that I didn't know what was going on.  I did come out fine, and Angie drove me home.  I had a plastic eye protector in place.  I have to wear it at night, and when I'm out and about for one week, as in 7 days.  Oh, I am just so ravishing when I wear it.

The first day, I got home around 3pm.  I fell asleep at some point, and when I awoke around 6pm, My vision on the surgery side was weird.  The top half of my vision was pink, and the bottom normal.  I called and left word with the answering service for the doctor to call me.  Well, long story short, he never did.  Gary took me to his office Tuesday morning, and he had received the wrong number from the answering service.  It is not a big deal.  Most people never have that problem, but naturally, I'm not "most" people.  It did go away yesterday morning, but came back last night.  This morning, it was there again, but only the top 1/4 of my field of vision was affected.  My eye is extremely sensitive to light, as in I need to wear sun glasses for a while.  I also need to wear bi-focals. I will always need bi-focals.  I go back in two weeks, and if all is well, we will schedule the right eye.  Then, I'll have a couple more procedures to get me to be 100% of what I should be.

Today, I saw this post on my Aunt Cheris's Facebook Wall.  I really liked it, so I'm copying it to my blog.  Of course, I also put it on my Facebook Wall.  It is a perfect example of how I feel.

One Pissed off Canadian Housewife.  This is very good PLEASE read....

Thought you might like to read this letter to the editor. Ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?  This one surely does!  This was written by a Canadian woman, but oh how it also applies to the U.S.A., U.K. and Australia .

THIS ONE PACKS A FIRM PUNCH

Written by a housewife in New Brunswick , to her local newspaper. This is one ticked off lady...

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not, started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the capitol of the USA and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

Do you think I care about four U. S. Marines urinating on some dead Taliban insurgents?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of a nation they are fighting against in a brutal Insurgency.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East, start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which, is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan .

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head, while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called insurgents in Afghanistan , come out and fight like men, instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in Mosques and behind women and children.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana, care about the innocent children within range of their suicide Bombs.

I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of Speech on stories, is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home, to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:

I don't care. Shoot him again.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food, that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe, in your heart of hearts:

I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.'  Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it.

I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail Friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country!

And may I add:

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering, if during their life on earth, they made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't have that problem.

I have another quote that I would like to share AND...I hope you forward All this.

One last thought for the day:

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2. The British Soldier.

3. The Canadian Soldier.

4. The US Soldier, and

5. The Australian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other four, for you and your children's Freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET!

AMEN! GOD BLESS CANADA AND AMERICA .See More

Ok, I'll get off my soap box.  I just want to say, it really reflects exactly how I feel.

Back to more pleasant things. Today, Sheila invited the Fab 5 to play golf. Gerry was busy, Margie was busy, I and decided I needed to be a good girl and mind doctors orders and not do anything strenuous for a week. Hence, the only exercise I got today was lifting a glass of beer to my lips..  I got there around 2pm, and they finished golf around 2:30.  Guess we hung out and drank and gossiped til around 4:30.  It was, by the way, a beautiful day in the Dallas area.

I am continuing on with my quest to buy a recreational vehicle.  Last night Gary, Angie and I went to look at a travel trailer.  I think it was tooooo small, but Angie liked it because she could tow it behind her mini-van.  It had a bath and kitchen, dinette that makes into a bed, a sofa that makes into a bed, a bathroom with separate shower, and NO GENERATOR.  That is a show stopper for me.  Can you see us being on a trip and it gets dark and we can't run a TV and DVD Player to entertain the two grand kids?  I can imagine, and it's NOT a pleasant thought.

I also found a couple of motor homes that I liked.  I don't particularly want a Class A motor home, cause they're too big for me to handle without Gary.  I want something Angie and I can handle.  A Class B is just too small.  I think a Class C is just about right for me.  I saw a new one at the home show, but I hate to spend $100,000 on one.  I think I'll start looking for a used one.  Since I'm not in a hurry, I'm hoping I can find something for Angie and something for me that we'll both be happy with.  Gary?  Well, forget that.  It doesn't matter what I get, it's not going to be right.  Oh well....c'est la vie!

Later... Stella is crying at the back door to get out.
