Thursday Things (nothing special)

Yesterday Sheila and I met at the driving range, planning on honing our golfing skills.  Well, it was a disaster, so to speak.  We saw Don K. there, he was setting up equipment to do video swing analysis lessons.  I, being the obnoxious person that I am, asked when I was going to get my "free" lesson.  He ignored me for a while, then motioned for me to come over.  He did a video of my swing, and decided that I was releasing my hands to early, thus no distance.  Once he identified that, I took a couple of swings, and man, it was so good, it was amazing.  I was forced to leave the teaching area by a rude person that actually had a scheduled lesson.  BITCH!  Anyway, I went back over to the regular driving range area and joined Sheila in hitting more balls.  Sure enough, I couldn't hit a damned thing for trying to control my release.  Finally, I gave up and just tried to swing smooth.... TA DAH!  Two good swings in a row and I quit while I was ahead.  Sheila is still trying to not hurt her knee (mental issue), and she just isn't swinging her normal dead eye swing.  I'm sure she was frustrated.  We were both tired, so we decided to do something we both were good at...... sitting on the patio of the Branding Iron Restaurant, drinking beer.  We were sooooo awesome.  You should have been there.

We sipped and visited for a couple of hours.  It's so much fun to do that.  No matter how long we go between trips to do it, we were good at it.  We resolved the problems of the world in a matter of minutes, and got caught up on all the happenings of the past week.  We were good to go.  We said adios, and went our separate ways.  I just

Today, I got up early and read the paper, drank coffee with Gary, and then went to play golf with the FWGA ladies.  My particular tee time was 10:56, and I noticed that Gerry was the tee time right behind me.  Gabbed with her on the first tee box, then off my foursome went.  I played so-so golf.  I was hitting the ball well, but my objective was to stay next to the cart path, cause due to the heavy rain over the last week, it was cart path only, and I was determined not to walk very far from the cart.  Needless to say, I took penalties to replay my previous shot if it didn't result in a ball location that was near the cart path.  I shot a 49 on the front line (several penalties for re-teeing the ball to make sure I landed next to the cart path) which was not that good, but I only had 16 putts on the front 9.  I had two lost balls on one hole, so it wasn't a stellar golf game, but what the heck.... it had been a while.  The back nine was going okay, until my hip and back started hurting.  I gave up, and was unable to finish the last 5 holes.  I just posted the front nine as an official score and blew it off.

Came home and took a long nap with Stella, the dog.  Then I did manage to fix lasagna for dinner.  I thought it was pretty good, so did Gary (all it takes is a salad and hot rolls to make him happy).  The problem was, I drank all but one champagne glass of proseco bubbly wine with my dinner.  I have the hick-ups as I type.  I blame Gary for that, cause he didn't drink his share.  Oh, the things I do for that man!

Tomorrow, Sears is going to deliver my new mattress set.  I am sooooo excited.  I'm hoping I can get a decent nights sleep.  My hip is killing me today.  The Humira shots I've taken havent' kicked in yet, or else they are not going to work.  I'm on a 2 month schedule to see if they'll help.  Other than getting an oil change on my car tomorrow morning, I have nothing else planned.  If anything exciting happens, I'll  blog.  More than likely, I'll blog even if something uneventful happens.

Remember it could be worse, I could be blogging about my restroom business.  Always consider the alternatives in your life.  Later.....  Here is some food for thought....

Even if you're retired, you sometimes have those day

Try this out:
Stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson.  Be very sure you get this brand.  When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed.

Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.  Now the fun part begins.

Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement:

"Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized."

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times,' I am so glad I do not work in the thermometer quality control department at Johnson & Johnson.'

HAVE A NICE DAY; AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE BEHIND THAN YOURS!
...Remember, if you haven't got a smile on your face and laughter in your heart..Then you are just an old sour fart; Maybe you should go and work for Johnson and Johnson
Enjoy life now - It has an expiration date!
