The last part of Spring Break was spent trying to keep the girls from getting any more sunburned than they already were. That was a chore, cause all they wanted to do was get back to the boogie and surf boards. Chloe informed me that she wants to get really good at surfing. Of course, her version of surfing and MY version of surfing are two different things. When I surfed, you actually had to stand up on the board, and try to shoot the curl. Do they still do that?
Staying in a two bedroom travel trailer with 7 people is sort of cramped. The sleeping was okay, but during the day, we were all over each other. All the more reason I need my own travel trailer or motor home. I have surfed the internet ever since I got home. I did find a nice class C motor home that I'd like to get, but the 8 mpg is a killer. However........ I wouldn't have to turn around and return to get the trailer. I still haven't firmly decided. Angie wants me to get the trailer, so she can "use" it. Smart of her, no?
I went to the eye doctor today and have scheduled me right eye cataract removal for April 2. Then, 2 months after that, I can get all the laser work done to remove the floaters. That is so the eyes will be at their optimal state after the surgery. It takes 2 months to heal before they reach their best point possible. It may take a little longer for me, (though I hope not) cause I have inflammation issues more so than the average person.
I am soooo fat now. I am attempting to diet, this is the second day. So far, so good. I go the the rheumatologist next Tuesday. I am hoping to stop the Humira after I use up the $1000 8 week supply I've already purchased. I do feel better, but I want to make sure it's not something else (like getting a new mattress). I figure it will continue to cost $500 a month, forever, less the price goes up. That's a tad expensive. I will do it, but I just want to make 100% sure it's the injections that are doing it.
For our 34th wedding anniversary, I got Gary and me a Sony Google TV console. Now, while watching TV, I can use one remote to control the U-Verse, the DVR, access the internet (youtube, my blog, etc), and I'm sure there are other things I just don't know exists. I like it, but I don't think Gary will ever touch it. Oh well..... Happy Anniversary to me.......
One sad, but interesting item. When I went to the same RV park with Janice in November, I met her neighbor, Ivan. Nice man. He stays in one location for months, then picks a different part of the USA to call home for while. He had reservations to stay there for several more months,. He is a creature of habit. He calls his ex-wife (mother of his grown children) every morning. He also calls his son a couple of times a day, and the son also calls him daily. On Sunday..... he vanished. When no one heard from him, they called the RV park. His cell phone would ring, but not answer. The cell phone now goes straight to voice mail, and the police are presuming the battery has been run down. Every person he knows says he has never before in his 50 some odd years done anything like this. The police are considering it a bad situation. There is definitely something wrong, they just don't know if it's foul play or not. The RV place called Janice about it, cause they hadn't seen her either (she went home when we did, and due to the weather, didn't bother to go back). They were hoping she had see him. Anyway..... that'll give her something to worry about.
That's all the excitement from here. I'm going to post a few pictures from vacation, just for grins. Hopefully, tomorrow will have something cool to blog about.
Proud Papa Gary
I have no idea what I was doing..... surprise picture.
Great Nephew Austin (17) and Great Niece Bailee (13)
Calling it a day.... leaving the water
Got my finger pinched while rolling down the awning. It looks pretty bad, but honestly,
IT HURT LIKE HELL!
This picture shows where we were, in relation to the water. We had to walk about 20 feet to get around the fence, which wasn't very much. Great location. Perfect place to feed the sea gulls.
This picture is for Sheila., No reason.... it just is.
This was Stella's first vacation outing with us. She loved the beach, and managed to kill her first crab. Quite a feat. She got nipped on the nose a couple of time, but she hung in and won the fight.
OK. I must explain. Years ago, my step-Dad and mother got my sisters and I a set of underwear from Slap Out, Oklahoma. They were all HUGE.... like about 3 feet wide, and 4 feet long. They loved getting us one weird gift every year at Christmas. I passed mine along to Sheila as a gag gift. Not sure what she did with them. Anyway.... Janice, my sister, is really good at doing stupid things. She went shopping in Galveston, and got both Gary and Frank a pair of underwear. Gary's are normal size, but Frank's pair is huge. He'll be soooo happy. I'm not sure his new girlfriend will understand, but she seems to have a good sense of humor. Gary has refused to ever let me put his pix on facebook (keep it secret if you've caught me doing it) or on my blog. He did agree to let me put this on facebook, as long as I didn't put his name on it. He had a couple of other stipulations, but I didn't really listen.
That's it for now.
