GOLF AND QUIGGLEY'S OUTING

I'll start with hello, then go back a couple of days to Thursday.  I did manage to get my fat butt out of bed and to the golf course on time.  I was in a threesome, and the round went fairly quickly.  I only played 15 holes, and then instead of my hip, knee or back bothering me, I had stomach problems.  Oh well, at least it wasn't those three keeping me from finishing.  I played OK, but still didn't score well.  However, my putting was still good, in spite of the super fast greens.  Browns might have been a better term for the putting area.  There was no grass, just brown fuzz.

I met up with Gerry after golf, and several of us golf ladies went to Cheddars for lunch and drinks.  I gave Sheila and Joyce a call, and they met us there.

Joyce always has a good time.  What's with the tea?

Sheila doesn't appear happy with her tea?

That was all my excitement for Thursday.  Friday after school let out, Chloe and Morgan came over to spend the night.  Morgan and Gary went to the movies to see "We Bought A Zoo", which Gary said was a real tear jerker.  Morgan liked it.  While they did that, Chloe and I went out for the evening with Joyce and Sheila.  We all went to Quiggley's Clay House.  I had another one of my famous Groupons.  Joyce and Sheila opted to take a private pottery wheel lesson.  They each made a goblet and a bowl.  I don't have any pictures of it, but I'll get some after they're fired.  Chloe has done everything they offer... mosaic, ceramics, and pottery, but she'd never done glass fusion, so she wanted to try that.  She made three pendants.  I made a pendant and matching earrings.  Mine are very plain.  I wear a lot of red, so I made a necklace of black, white, and red.  She was very creative with hers.  I think they might be the best of any either of us has made.  It was a real bargain, as we each paid only $10 per person with the Groupon.  That, plus tax.  They charges us tax on the value of the stuff we made, I guess, cause tax was about $2.50 a person.  Oh well.  It was still a bargain.

After we finished up at Quiggley's, we all agreed to go to Casa Millagro.  They USED to make the best Michelada, but alas, it wasn't the same last night.  It tasted like all they added was mild bloody mary mix.  Oh well.  It was packed when we arrived, so instead of waiting, we asked if we'd be allowed to eat on the patio.  There were several tables of people, and it was not in the wind, so it was okay.  It was cool, but not cold.  We all enjoyed various items, and a couple of beers.  Well, since Chloe is only 12, she had diet Coke.  But, we had a good time.  Chloe snapped our picture.

We got in fairly early.  Gary and the girls played with their foam and potato guns.  They drive me crazy when they do that.  No room is off limits.  I also find foam darts in the house for days afterwards.  I think Gary has about 100 darts.  There is one rule that they all follow.... they must wear protective eye wear.  They all adhere to that rule.  The potatoes are not allowed in the house, so they run in and out.  The girls settled down finally.... well I should say Gary settled down finally, and we had a semi-good nights sleep.

This morning, Gary got up and baked cinnamon rolls (out of a can) for the girls, made waffles (frozen kind), and bacon for breakfast, which started at around 8.  Then, the guns came out again.  Chloe went home around 10 am, but Morgan stayed all day.  Gary took her bowling this evening, and caused Morgan to be late for a Polar Bear Swim Party.  I don't even understand that, but she had a blast, even if she arrived late.  She came back here afterwards.  She and Gary are in the computer room, and I can hear him threatening to shoot her, and her declaring he can't cause she's not wearing her glasses.  I swear, Gary has more fun with those girls that they do with him.  I sometimes feel sorry for Morgan, cause he'll pester her till she quites playing on the computer and plays guns with him.

If I get any of the pictures from Chloe that she took at Quiggley's, I'll post them.  Joyce took her camera, but forgot to take pictures.  Guess she was too wrapped up in her clay project.  I did clay once years ago, but didn't like getting it under my nails.  It also dries out your skin if you do it very much.  I may try it again some day in the near future, but I'm not sure.  That's it for tonight.... stay safe.
