One of the overlooks on the path thru the woods.
There were about 7 male ducks (drakes, is that the term?) hunting for food in the stream.
This is really close to my house, just st the end of the park.
Sorry about the poor quality, it was the largest zoom available.
I was afraid to get too close, lest I scare them.
I conned Sheila into having a Cinco de Mayo party at her Casa tomorrow. I thought the pool would be more fun than my living room or deck. I have volunteered to make fajitas.... chicken and beef. Today, as sore as I was, I did go get all the grocery items I needed. I think it would be a lot cheaper to just take everyone out to dinner. Oh well, as long as it turns out okay, I really don't care. I have my chicken and beef marinating in the fridge. Tomorrow, all I'll have to do is grill the meat, make the guacamole, the pico de gallo, shred lettuce and cheese, and I'll be good to go. I'm grilling it here so Mark and Sheila won't have to do anything. Hey, they're letting us use their pool!
Carlos and spouse Sue, Sheila and Mark, and Gary and me. Small party, but we'll have fun. I love to go to parties when Carlos and Sue are there. Sheila and Mark are givens. I am taking my camera, and just hope I remember to use it.
As for the diet.... today I made vegan chili. I had a ton of onion, carrot, and celery. Cooked that with a little wine, then added garbanzo, red kidney, and some pinto beans. Added a package of Williams Chili Seasoning, and tasted it. YUCK! It wasn't bad, but it was missing something. I added a pound of cooked ground beef, and voila! It was good. Gary ate 3 bowls of it. It's still healthy, cause the volume of meat to bowl is reduced drastically. I didn't calculate the calories. I just didn't feel like it. I did splurge and have 5 saltine crackers...... only 60 calories. What a deal. I really enjoyed them.
I was just sitting here wondering......
