I took Dawn to radiation, and then she needed to go to Albertson's for some RX's, and she also needed to go to Home Depot. Home Depot was a good 20-30 minutes while she looked for parts to her furnace or something like that. I got bored, and thank gawd, about $80 later she found what she was looking for. For my $80 I got Stella a faux suede doggie bed (she may not use it), so new expensive light bulbs that are guaranteed for 5 years (it'll take Gary that long to get them installed where I want them), and a wireless speaker for my son-in-law for Xmas. While we were at Albertson's, I got the fixings for burgers on the grill.
Chloe decided to spend the evening and night over here, cause she doesn't want to get sick. Her Mom sort of agreed to let her. Chloe has everything figured out. Last night she called and asked if she could eat dinner with Gary and me. I told her I was eating out, but NOT El Fenix. She agreed to eat wherever we wanted, no problem for her. I gave Gary a choice between Olive Garden and Cheddars. Get this, he picked Cheddars cause he wasn't sure Olive Garden had good fish dishes. We got there, and he got what? Yup, Chicken Pasta Salad. I got salmon and Chloe had chicken tenders with fries. She took most of it home. I only had one Margarita. However, Chloe ordered their Monster Cookie (Monster refers to the calories, not the size). Hot chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, a cherry, and lots of hot fudge sauce. The three of us split it. Honestly, I think it was either the cookie or the Margarita that wrecked havoc on my system.... probably really not the flue still.
Chloe now has Gary making her home made brownies. He gave her a choice.... home made brownies, or home made chocolate chip cookies. She picked brownies, and it's just as well. Gary has never made home made chocolate chip cookies. I am going to bake banana bread, cause their are about 8 darkening bananas on the counter attracting flies. Either way, Dawn and I both have decided in our next life we want to come back as Gary's grand daughters.
Angie saw the surgeon today. The mass is definitely a tumor, but it has undefined edges, which is not good. The surgeon has worked on me, Dad, and Angie in the past. He said he really has no way to tell if it's cancer or not, but based on our family history, he wasn't particularly worried about that being a problem. He is more concerned about it maybe being endometriosis. That is why she had to have her uterus removed. She had robotic surgery, and they accidentally left a piece of the uterus in her, and it attached to her stomach and grew. They treated her for 2 years for IBD when doctor Lambert (the surgeon we all use) did exploratory surgery and found the piece left in, that had endometriosis cells in it, and it was growing rampant in her. He removed it, and she hasn't had problems since. Well, til now. She also has two masses on her ovary. They want to leave them in for heart and bone issues, but he said he didn't know what he'd end up finding.
Angie has all the confidence in the world in Dr. Lambert, we all do. He is one of those doctors I am lucky to know. He actually asked how Dad and I were. Now, he may not remember us, or whatever, maybe he had it written in her chart, but for him to remember or be the kind of doctor to make notes of things like that is amazing. Now you know why we all like him. He has her scheduled for surgery on Dec. 28. It is currently planned for day surgery. I will go with her to the hospital, Gary will take over Mommy duties, and I'm not sure what Eric (her hubby) will do. The one good thing..... Angie had a complete stomach cat scan before her stomach surgery. There was no mass at that time, well one on the ovary, so it's really a fast growing tumor, but caught super early. Enough about that. At least it won't ruin Christmas. Also, just in time for insurance to cover it. Angie has a $10,000 deductible on her insurance, which she used this year for her stomach surgery.... so all of this surgery is covered by her insurance. That's great news.
That's about all the excitement going on here. I have no pictures to post. I've been editing all my Europe pictures. I've cut them in half so far, down to around 600. I am determined to finish. Tomorrow I'll be busy cooking and cleaning for my neighbor gals dinner. That's it for now. Here is some food for your thought....
Here's to Geezer Week.
