Saturday, Gary and I went to Stonebriar Country Club to celebrate with Don and Gerry, their 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was so nice. When you walked in, there was a table set up with their wedding pictures on display, and their children had their wedding photo enlarged and placed in a frame. As people entered, they wrote their "congratulations" on the linen border of the picture frame. It was such a thoughtful and unique gift.

Of course, Don and Gerry were beautiful. They were surrounded by a hundred or so people toasting to their successful marriage, family, and life. Gerry is one of the most kind-hearted people I know. I am so proud to call her my friend. Ralph and Margie were there also. I met several of her neighbors and friends, and got to revisit with some of her family that I already knew. The only thing I don't understand is why she didn't seat me with the priest, or maybe the Wylie group. Hmmmmmmmm. Guess I need to ponder that for a while.

We enjoyed Bloody Mary's, Mimosa's, and Champagne before the brunch, which had every food imaginable for brunch. I stayed with the "regular" breakfast fare, cause my tummy wasn't having a good day. Gary, bless his heart, had some of everything. I made them a video of the few pictures that I took, just haven't run it over there yet. I am sad to say I didn't get a better one of Gerry and Don together. The one of Gary and I was taken as we were leaving. Angie brought her camera over for me to borrow, and she snapped this one of us together.
I came home and took a nap. Too many drinks before noon is probably not a great idea. After that, nothing exciting. I went to late church service, then came home and cooked some Emeril Lagasse recipes..... shredded brisket beef tacos with Avacado crema. Dad and I really loved the food, Gary said it was "okay, I guess". After dinner, I walked the dog. While I was out, Angie and her clan came over and scarfed down the remaining beef, guacamole, pico de gallo, and Avacado crema. They all raved about it. They were going home to taco soup, which Morgan hates. She begged for food here, so she went home with 3 hot dogs and buns, fritos, and cheese queso. Thank goodness I don't have to pay thier grocery bill. Those two girls can eat up a storm, then complain of being hungry 15 minutes later.
Sheila called this morning..... safe and sound. She had a ball, I may get pix later, and if I do, I'll post them. We just gossiped for a while. She's playing catchup on her "real" job, so I won't see her til tomorrow night. That's it for now, I'm off to Gerry's to deliver the DVD.
