The invitation to the Super Bowl is at the end of the post. I need to tell you all what I've been doing. Angie and I decided to remove all furniture from my bedroom except the bed, night stands and PC "wheeled" desk. That means all the Ethan Allen wall units, desk and chairs will go. I started unpacking all the wall units, and Angela decided to redecorate her room BEFORE we moved furniture over. So on Sunday, she and Chloe started removing wall paper before I got over there. I left everything in the floor so I could go help them. It is STILL like that today. I'll work on it after I blog.
Here is a pix of the room before they got too far into the paper removal. Yes, that's a pinkish mauve on the top of the chair rail, and flowered pinkish mauve and various teals and browns on the bottom. All they used the room for previously, was for a play room for the girls.
I honestly have pictures of Chloe working on the wall, removing the paper, but Angie fixed my pc, and I now use Chrome for blogging. I cannot move pix around, so I'm omitting most of them from the post. She's at work and can't help me.
Anyway, the arse's that owned the house previously, sanded texture off the bottom, then wall papered without sealing the wall. When they pulled off wallpaper, they ran into unsealed texture which ate up the paste we were trying to add. Needless to say, we had to remove all old glue and then reseal the entire wall before we could do our faux finish. We chose the suede leather look. As you can tell, it turned out really pretty.

This pix is of Angela helping me move my legs. For some reason, if I sat too long, my hip sockets would like go to sleep. They only hurt if I moved. If Angie moved them, they didn't hurt. Hey, whatever works. I know, this isn't flattering of either of us, but I could care less.
Here is a picture of the finished wall. It's tan on top, and the brown faux suede on the bottom. We also redid the crown molding, baseboards and chair rails. Yes, it ended up being a lot more work than we expected. We got the new drapes hung yesterday. When it stops raining, we'll move furniture. In the meantime, my room is a disaster and the house cleaner comes tomorrow. I'm not sure what I'll do with all the crap I've got sitting on the floor, but Angie will come over this evening and help me get it organized in some "new" place, yet to be determined.
Margie called me the other day, and I offered to embroidery names on aprons for her granddaughter's cooking class - birthday party. I don't have to have them finished til the last week in February, but I hate being rushed, so I've get them in my messy room, and once we have it cleaned up, I"ll start.
I did finish getting rid of all my excess PA's, but it was still quite a lot of phone work this week.
I've been thinking about my fab five friends, and I decided to have a Super Bowl party. Sheila is in Jamaica right now, so she won't be able to come. Gerry is having her "Wylie" friends over for her own Super Bowl Party, and she did NOT INVITE US, nor does she ever like for us to be around that set of friends. I think we're too "party hardy" and uncouth for that set of friends.
I also thought about the mess in my house from me redoing my bedroom, and decided I really can't stand the thought of any friends coming over here while it's such a mess, so I have decided to hold it at Sheila's house. She won't be there, but I have an emergency key. Margie and Ralph will be there, and so will Sue and Clay. That puts our number at only about 7 people, but I think we can have it there and not make a mess. Crap, she'll never know we were there. Now, as long as the football game doesn't go into a lot of overtime, we shouldn't get caught. I'm having everyone bring their snacks in disposable serving dishes, and I'm providing paper plates and plastic cups. I'll take pictures and let you all know how it goes. Now, if only none of you can contact them in Jamaica, I've got it made. Should any of you want to join us, please give me a call BEFORE Sat evening to touch base with me.
It's raining again here, and cold. We don't believe in the Pennsylvania ground hog for predicting our Texas Spring-weather arrival, so we use our local Armadillo. The Armadillo predicts that Spring-weather is just around the corner. It's supposed to clear up Sat and Sun, then back to rain and cold. Hopefully, it's gonna get really nice right after that.
That's it for now. I've gotta get started on my room cause I need to take Chloe to the doctor at 3pm. She is allergic to all penicillin products. She was put on a non-penicillin based antibiotic that she's used before, and has had a reaction. The reaction isn't as bad as the previous penicillin product reactions, but it is still a cause for alarm, because there aren't that many products that can effectively fight a virus.
Later.....
