Great Day..... the four of us played golf today at Twin Creeks in Allen. Sheila, Gerry, and Margie arrived about 30 minutes before tee time. Margie forgot we were playing today, and when Sheila went to the door to get her, Ralph thought Sheila was just coming over for morning coffee. With him, I guess. Anyway, Princess Margie was still in her house coat. That put them a little behind. I, however, arrived about 1 hour before tee time. Then, as luck would have it, they had to postpone tee off due to a freeze on some of the holes. We teed off at 10 am instead of 9.

They provided us breakfast (continental), lunch, golf and cart for free. Anyway, I had a doctor's appointment at 1:10, so I left for a few holes, and while I was gone, the girls made 2 more birdies without me. We actually had 6 under. Margie turned in our scorecard, and we were announced as the winners with 64 for our score. Problem was, 72 minus 6 is 66, not 64. We were SOOOO embarassed. The guy announcing us as winners, caught the mistake AFTER he announced us. So, of course, now there are 105 ladies that think we try and cheat. Anyway, to make a long story short...... we didn't win anything, though we did finish in 3rd place, but we got extra gift cards to Golf Smith because it was HIS error for not checking our math. Now, how nice are they? After that, they gave everyone champagne. It really was a nice event.

I have to be honest. Gerry gave up wine for Lent. She wasn't comfortable that wine and champagne weren't really the same thing. Try as we might, we never could convince her that they really are separte things. I mean Margie gave up Two Buck Chuck wine just so she could keep her life normal. (Don't quote me on that, I may have misunderstood) Anyway, I drank Gerry's champagne to stop the discussion.
All four of us purchased some special cards they were selling today.... we get 3 rounds of golf and cart for $40. We each got two cards, and Sheila bought two for Sue and Clay since they live so close to the course. They're on a ski vacation, so I'm sure they'll be delighted we thought of them.
Marige is planning on a wine tasting event for us in May..... when Gerry can drink wine again. We'll do that with the guys. Then the four of us are going to Chamberlains Chop House to spend one of our gift certificates we won in another tournament. They expire March 31, so we've got to get busy planning.
Speaking of golf, Gary told me that tomorrow is Tiger Wood's press conference. Gary (my hubby) told me to have a party to watch the conference. Sheila refused to come.... said we girls needed to play golf. Gary now thinks Sheila was afraid Tiger would mention her name as one of his mistresses. I talked to her about it, and honest injun..... she didn't deny it. She said, "Geeze Connie, who HASN'T slept with Tiger". Well, I for one haven't. Now I'm mad that all my golfing gal friends have been messing with Tiger and not telling me. I'm hoping one of them has pictures. Anyway, I relented, and Sheila and I are playing golf tomorrow. Not sure about the others, but let's hope the weather is nice. It was today, just a tad windy. Oh and about the party...... Angie just e-mailed me that the conference was today. The paper says it's Friday. Who's on first?
