HAPPY 85TH BIRTHDAY DAD

Saturday was Dad's 85 th birthday. He probably got close to 15 birthday calls. He was in seventh heaven.... had a great time talking to everyone. Course, he couldn't tell me who he was talking to. He also couldn't remember how old he was, but what the heck. He had a ball. THANK all of you family members that called him.

Guess turning 85 tires you out, cause he didn't wake up until right around noon. Said he felt terrible. Just plain old worn out. Poor dear. Anyway, he missed Gary taking him out to iHOP for breakfast, cause Gary gave up and ate about 15 minutes before Dad got up. We explained that Gary would take him there tonight for dinner. That made him happy.

Gary's sister fell and broke her hip. She may have her surgery tomorrow. She has other health issues, and she has been there two days while they try and stabilize her. He and Loyd went up to visit her. Dad asked for him all afternoon long. I took Stella for a walk, and Dad finally got up and took her for a walk also. Took him about 30 minutes to walk to the end of the street and back, but at least he was walking. I kept checking on him all the time he was gone. When he finally came in, he asked where Gary was, and I told him (for the um-teenth time) where Gary was. I also promised if Gary wasn't back by 6pm, that I'd take him to iHOP. That settled him down. Gary got home right after that, and they headed straight for iHOP. They're still not back yet.

I did accomplish something today. I found a new recipe blog. Here's the url.....
