What Rain????

Woke up this morning to the sound of soft rain.  I also woke up to find that Gary had taken every ones order and made a McDonald's run.  Talk about getting upset.  I'd already told Angie and Gary that I had two breakfast meals planned.  Talk about getting upset.  I just hate wasting my money buying food for everyone and they decide that they want McDonalds, and Papa's going to buy, so no big deal.  I won't go there, cause it still ticks me off.

The weather here today was awful.  The birthday party was basically washed out.  Talk about wind and rain.  Then late this afternoon, it really settled down.  The kids all got their fill of body surfing, boggie boarding, and burying each other in sand.  YUCK!  Stella got out a couple of times.  She was rescued by a neighbor, who saw her in a real mess.  She'd gone into a whole in the ground, and it was a wash out.  She got turned around just before the rest caved in on her.  All he saw was her nose and tongue.  He went to see what it was, and got her dug out.  Scared me to death.

Naturally, I warn everyone, yes EVERYONE, which includes Gary, that Stella cannot be off leash.  I know you'll find this hard to believe, but it happened again.  I was standing on the beach talking to someone that had come down for the party despite the weather, when Gary handed me the leash.  In doing so, he said, here, hold the leash. I took it, and realized that there was no dog on it.  I finally found Gary and asked where Stella was.  He asked what I meant, and I had to remind him that he'd had her on the leash, then gave me an empty leash.  What happened, he didn't say anything, but started an immediate search of all the sand dunes.  I went one direction, he another.  About 1/2 hour later, I saw him pulling her on her leash.  She had gone further than every before, and was in the dunes.  A man in multi story condo saw Gary looking for the dog and calling her name.  He directed Gary thru the dunes to where she was stuck.  Gary has not walked the dog since.

The birthday party went really well, as all the kids have a ball playing together.  Janice and I planned on cooking hot dogs for everyone for lunch.  We had to delay the party because Angie decided to make a Subway run.  She had taken orders from all the kids.  I do not understand people.  Crap, if I tell them what I'm cooking, why do they feel the need to go buy something different?  Needless to say, I grilled hot dogs for supper.

After dinner, Angie took all the kids to The Rainforest Cafe for their boat ride thru the jungle.  If you have never done it, and have a chance, take the ride.  Also, their restaurant is very good.  The atmoshpere is great, but the food is really good as well.  Angie called a few minutes ago to tell me that when one of the kids got out of the car, the wind caught the door and it slammed into another car and got a big dent.  She didn't mention anything about the other car, so I'm not sure what's going on.  Crap!

Think I'll end this blog while I'm ahead.  I'm not sure what else will happen.  Except for a couple of set backs, it was a great day.  I didn't post any pictures cause I couldn't find my camera battery.  Maybe tomorrow.
