My Family's Weddings

My how time flies. 31 years ago today, Gary and I were married in Pearland, Texas. It is a suburb of Houston. At the time, I lived in Houston, and he lived in Dallas. Oh, the trials of getting a transfer to Dallas. My Dad was so happy to get Gary for a son-in-law, that he actually planned and provided everything for the wedding that was held at his house, and also gave Gary the family heirloom gold cufflinks. Today, Gary is Dad's running buddy. Dad was indeed lucky to snag Gary for a son-in-law.

Unfortunately, I wasn't in the normal wedding pictures of my step-daughter in 1996, but I did have a 4X6 of us....... it is too small to get a decent scan, but here's also a pix of us that night. The funny thing about it was, I had my foot in a cast, which I covered with a black sock of Gary's, and I wore plazo pants.

The grandest wedding was Angie's wedding, Sept. 7, 2001, which was held in Las Vegas, Nev. at the wedding chapel at Circus Circus. The wedding party and the family flew up. We had a blast, and we held the wedding reception at a Del Web home in Henderson, Nev. I'll never forget the wedding. We all went out early to gamble and party for a few days, Gary babysat Chloe, then Eric and Angie and Chloe went home on the 9th. Mom, Frank, Gary and I were scheduled to leave on 9-11. Guess you know what happened. At least SW Airlines paid for out accomodations for the next few days cause we couldn't leave.

I'm not proud or anything like that, but Angie, Chloe and my Mom were so beautiful that day. Four generations at one wedding.... priceless memories.

I woke up today to coffee, flowers, chocolates, and PC printer paper (inside joke), and I gave Gary an aerogarden. That's one of those indoor gardens with a grow light attached. I have always wanted one. It was a great morning. Also, my BEST anniversary gift...... Dad and I accepted an offer on his house in Houston. TADA!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GARY

What a great day. Now, Angie and I are off to lunch at Picasso's to celebrate.
