This morning, I had my alarm set so I could go play golf with the girls. I got up, but really wasn't enthused about going. I went anyway, and half way there I woke up (or something) and started looking forward to teeing off. Started out with back to back pars, then went downhill from there. My stamina is not what it should be, so I only played 9 holes, but the score is nothing I want to post about. I went shopping for awnings for the golf course. That took several hours. Angie wanted me to go to the movies with her and the girls, but I'm not a big Hannah Montanna fan so I passed. I did meet them for dinner at Fuddruckers. Left there and went to Big Lots to do more shopping. Hey, I do it so seldom, it took longer because there was tons of stuff I hadn't seen before. At the end of the day, I'd spent about $1000. Lots of that was NOT for me though.
My two precious grand daughters.....
Can you believe I wasn't hungry at dinner time? The guys had to fend for themselves. Off they went to Subway. Our neighbor plays in the Plano Community Band. They play in the Urban Train Museum park every two weeks. I didn't go last time, but Dad asked me if I would go this time. I called Angie and the girls, and everyone went except Eric. It was lots of fun. This was "Broadway musical night" which I liked, I'm glad I missed the marching band presentation.
Everyone goes and takes coolers and lawn chairs.
Dad enjoying the music.
Me, just chilling and listening. The couple in the lower right needed our assistance when the concert was over. The man had something go wrong and he couldn't stand up. It took four adults to lift him. They were both embarrassed, but didn't seem concerned that he had trouble. I sure was confused, but glad we could help.
My neighbor Ken, playing the trombone.
Got home and ready for bed and blogging and Angie and family drive up. They had a snake in front of their garage door when they went home for the concert, and they'd had Eric capture it. He brought it over so we could all got to turn it loose in the creek together. I personally, would rather have shot him, but the girls are so weird about that. You can't tell it, but it was very skinny, and about 4 to 5 feet long.
Here's a good reason to never walk around your house after sundown. The "critters" are out and just looking for a way to get in your house!
We guessed it to be a rat snake. If anyone knows for sure, let us know. I think this pix should be called "Snake in a red bag."
On our way to the creek, we came upon a toad. Little darlin', if only he knew that we'd just dumped a snake in the creek about 10 feet away. Bet that'd ruin his night!
Off Mr. Snake went, then off Angie and family went, then Gary and I decided to call it a night. Just another normal day at our house.
