We passed a closed section of I45 and we were so proud of ourselves. All went well, we zipped downtown only to find the idiot in front of us dropping his speed to 25 MPH. I honked and gave him a few hand signals, and suddenly we were driving thru deep water... yes, in the HOV lane. He sped up and then in a few minutes, same thing.... he slowed down and we continued thru deep water. Finally, we realized that the HOV does not have drainage holes in the concrete barrier, so it holds deep water when it rains. That idiot in front of me actually saved our lives, cause it kept us from hydro-planing thru that deep water. I sorta felt bad about the hand signals. Oh Well!
We did manage to get home safe and sound, but because of the deep water and rain, it took us about 6 hours to get home. I made my hair appointment, so I have a new "do". The grand kids are both ill with pneumonia. They called and wanted me to take them to El Fenix (imagine that) for dinner. Off Angie and the girls, Dad, Gary and I go. Great meal, then Angie and I revisit features on my iPhone. One more app is purchased. Dang, it'll $.99 you to death... one more game now resides on my iPhone. We all hit the sack early, after promising the girls if they'd go home and let Dad and I have a good nights sleep, they could stay over Friday night and even Saturday during the day. (We're sooo sneaky)
We got a good nights sleep, then this morning I had one more doctors appointment. I was off the Lipitor due to muscle and joint pain, I'm better, so I'm off on a new RX. They also added some additional tummy medicine. Gawd.... I hope it helps. While talking to the doctor (Moolamalla...she is the greatest) my phone rang, and I told her I needed to answer it. She waited while I took the call. It really helps if the doctor always schedules you as her last patient before lunch. Anyway, it was the realtor. We set up closing for today at 3pm. The doctor was almost as excited as I was.
They lending place (Country something) in Houston made arrangements with me and StarTex title for me to go to the Guaranty Bank down the street. Off Dad and I go..... got everything signed and notarized, then I faxed everything back, only 2 errors which I fixed, then I left here at 4:45 to overnight the docs. Went to Shilo and Geo Bush Exp in Garland to the Fed Ex store next to Kroger, and it has closed. Not for the day...permanently. I had 10 minutes to get to the post office in Plano. I sped like crazy, got there at one minute til five. Thank Goodness..."Someone" was looking out for me. They locked the door as soon as I walked in. I got that taken care of, and walked out to some terrific hail and rain. Who cares!!!!! I was so elated, I smiled all the way to the car.
WE'RE IN THE MONEY
Honestly, it's not much money, but I am so relieved that this task is over with. I'm going to quit posting and start celebrating with Dad. I think I may eat a loaf of bread. JUST KIDDING!
