Yesterday, I was playing golf, shampooing carpets, and taking a golf lesson. How does one go from that to shopping with Sheila? That was NOT a typo..... Sheila went shopping. Now the weird part.... shopping for DRESSES! What a riot. It was a remake of Pretty Woman. She grabbed things to try on, and I was the swap size person. What a riot! We went to Ross, which was Sheila's first on her list to shop. We got there before they opened, so we went to Target. Me, being a senior, had a "moment" while in Target. I was thinking "Ross", and kept mentioning to Sheila that Target must own "Ross", cause all the signs mentioned going online to Target.com for fitting instructions. She must have been having a senior moment also, cause she couldn't figure out what I was talking about. She finally realized I was in la-la land, and reminded me that "Ross" wasn't open and we'd switched to Target. Boy.... did I feel stupid. At least the signs now made sense. I stayed on track after that. We just bought some "skinny" jeans and shorts, and finally we went to "Ross".
They were having a dress sale. That's what we were after. I think they had close to 1,000 dresses. We managed to find two dresses that Sheila liked. I almost hate her..... she's now a size 8. GASP! I could be a size 8 if I went on a diet of water only.... for a year maybe. She is now what one would call thin. We didn't find any tops that went with the items we bought at Target, so we headed to Steinmart, which is where I wanted to shop. Sheila had mapped it before she left her house this morning, so we followed her directions. Steinmart's address is on Preston Road, which we took. However, HER directions had us leave that street and going onto several weird streets where we found ourselves in the middle of a housing addition, with no shopping. I finally called and we back tracked and found the store.
We went in, and decided we were in heaven. It was super organized by items. If you saw something you liked, they had all the sizes there in one spot. We grabbed multiple sizes (8 & 10) to save trips back. It was wonderful. We found all types of things she liked. Now the dresses, they were classic styled dresses. The items we were now shopping for were Sheila trying to get out of her comfort zone, and had "color". We agreed ahead of time that if she didn't think she'd wear it, she would just say no.... no explanation required. You can tell by the results, that we succeeded in getting our "color" items. Now, I'm just hoping she doesn't get home and have second thoughts. If she does, she can always return them. You know what, when you're thin, anything looks good on you. Well, not everything..... some times they just don't hang right. Especially if they're too long and you're petite.
Here are some pictures. The first one may be a little to revealing and sexy for your eyes. I took it under the door. The flash worked that time, and scared her. HA!
Nope, she didn't buy the pink dress.
Below you can tell how much Sheila enjoyed shopping.... note the smile?
I refused to quit taking pictures until she smiled.
This is my favorite outfit.
Every girl needs a little bling on their blouse.
We both loved the jacket. Got it at one store, then the camisole top at another.
Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of the two dresses. Here is a bird that unfortunately, was prettier live than on the picture. He is from Mexico, I guess, cause he was eating tortilla chips.
Sorry about the pictue below being so dark. We were under an umbrella and I couldn't get the flash to fire. I was just too pooped to mess with it, and feel puny today, so again I didn't mess with editing it.
I didn't shop for me today, and hadn't been in Steinmart for years, but I did remember they had resort style clothes. I saw a zillion things I'd like to buy. So, sometime AFTER the Easter shopping crowd has had time to return their items, I'm going to go back and shop for me. No, Sheila won't go, she'll be on her cruise. Oh, before I forget, she's not taking most of the things we bought today on her trip. The shorts are for here. It will be too cool and her main wardrobe will be slacks.
After Steinmart, we were tired and ready to quit for the day. Sheila treated me to beer and nachos on the patio of Casa Milagro, which is by my house. It was too late in the day to eat a meal, but it hit the spot. After that, I came home and crashed. Gary, Angie, Morgan and Chloe had plans tonight to see the musical Mary Poppins at Fair Park (where we took Joyce to see Wicked). Morgan was here (she spent the night) taking a bubble bath. By the time she got out of the bubble bath, Chloe had gotten ill. Finally, it was decided Eric would replace Chloe. I guess I should explain that I didn't want to go. I hate sitting in those seats for a long period of time.... not enough leg room. Here are some pictures of the group.
PLEASE NOTE MORGAN'S SHOES.
Here? Well, it's just me and Stella watching reruns of NCIS, and calling Chloe every hour. Poor baby!
Quick follow up. I never uploaded anything last night, so I didn't post this until today... Saturday. I ran to Clothes Mentor to shop for Angie and me... found nothing for us, but found a blouse I decided Sheila "might" like. I can always return it if she doesn't. I'm going to take it to her tonight. Here is a picture of it. I'll blog tomorrow if she liked it or not.
This shows the colors.
This shows the style. Make a guess and see if you're right.
Til tomorrow.... and by the way.
HAPPY EASTER EVE.
