Woke up to a fabulous golf day. It was 64 degrees when I arrived at the golf course. Of course, I was on the cool side.... wearing shorts, no less. However, it was nice inside the house, and into the garage, and then the drive to the course. Honestly, it was sooooo nice today. It warmed up slightly, but never got HOT. I am so sick of HOT weather.
I played The Old Course today with (pictured left to right) Margie S., Anita T., (me standing) and Linda N. We were in the first group on hole number one, so off we went. We had no one in front of us, and when we finished our round 3 hours and 15 minutes later, we were 5 1/2 holes ahead of the group behind us. We ate lunch at the 19th hole. We got tired of waiting for everyone else, so we left around 12. Margie shot 88, and I shot 93. Not that great for either one of us. I was having trouble with my chip shots, for some weird reason. Also, my new sand wedge is not what it's cracked up to be.
Came home, and ran to the eye doctor. They redid my RX for my eyes to make them stronger than they were 3 months ago. This time, I saw Dr. Joseph, and he did an A scan (????), and further testing that wasn't done last time by Dr. Patel. He explained the 3 things causing my vision problems. I have cataracts (level 3), astigmatism (sp?), and my eyes are not aligned properly. I knew when Idrank that they looked different... but all this time I thought it was the booze. Now, I find out it's a medical problem. I just can't figure out it that is good or bad. Oh well.
He also wants me to have a fasting glucose tolerance test, as he suspects the onset of diabetes. Wow, what a great day I had. He also rewrote the RX for the glasses I just bought, and put me back in no line bifocals. He did not understand why Dr. Patel took me out of them. Hopefully, that will help me on my vision problems. He did say the combo of the problems with my eyes makes me a candidate for surgury now, even though they normally don't do that until they are level 6. I'm gonna wait.
Not much else exciting. I spoke with Sheila today, and we have decided to NOT play in the Garland City Golf Championship. Their isn't a women's flight, so we don't know how that would work. Personally, we both think it sucks the way they run it. Sheila has booked us a tee time for Sunday. She, Mark, and some one of my choice will play a four-some. I'm off to walk the dog.....literally.
