On the first official hole, a few of us decided to play a two man best ball, handicapped game for $2.50 a person, or $20 to the winning team. That sandbagger Sheila has a 7.5 handicap for 9 holes there. I have an 8. You round up, so Sheila and I had the exact same handicap. There were 4 teams. Sheila & Carlos, Gary & me, Sharon & Craig P., and Tracie and Eddie P.
GARY T AND I WON ! ! !
It never rained on us until just before we putted out on the last hole. I "carried" Gary T (smile) for the first few holes, but then he stepped up to the plate and won the rest of the holes for our team. Both of us shot really well, and you all know how I hate to brag, butI BEAT SHEILA
That is the first time in a couple of years that I've come close. She is just too darned good! Anyway, I have to gloat in my small victory, cause it is so rare! We're busy making plans for the next couple of weeks. Joyce will be coming in this weekend. She and Sheila are off for one of the Coles' many, many yearly vacations. They're going to New Mexico for some sight-seeing and relaxation. After that, we're going to have some wine tasting - Gibbons style...... no exotic food pairings... just wine, and some pool parties at Sheila's. I'm so looking forward to Joyce's visit. Dad is also looking forward to some Pass The Ace with the "group".
A birdie told me that Margie S played golf Monday. Evidently, her recent cancer surgery didn't hurt her golf game one bit. She played just like always..... killer golfer! We are all so proud of her! Keep her in your prayers, her chemo starts soon.
I've gotta get the PA schedule done (hence the early posting time) and be at the course to tee off at 7:30 with the FWGA. Gosh, I hope my outstanding golf game is there!
