Thursday, I played in the FWGA tournament. What a crock. They had 4 person teams that they built... each team had an a,b,c & d player. The a player has the lowest handicap, thus they're the best player on the team. They did NOT handicap it. Thus, all the low handicap people and their teams won. I was the A player on my team, and I have a 16.5 handicap. The lowest a player had a 7 or something like that. They didn't have enough low handicappers, so I was pushed into the slot. Other teams had better b players than I am, so we were screwed from the get go. We came in next to the last, with a respectable 1 over par. The winning team had a 68. Hmmmmmm.
Nuff about that, cause I can't change it. I just won't be playing in any more non-handicapped events.
I have been playing Word With Friends for a couple of years with a lady know as "lisajka". You can send notes to each other via the WWF application. We've done that. Short notes about the game... then the conversations progressed to what city we lived in, were we married, have kids, so on. Anyway, we've become great friends. She came to town for the national robotics tournaments with her daughter. We agreed to meet up to see each other face to face. She came over to my house.
We chatterd for a while, then we went to eat at Casa Millagro. We had so much fuin. It was just like I knew her as a regular friend, instead of an internet friend. After dinner, she came back here and we chatted and looked at pictures of her daughters new house (different daughter that the one in the competition) that they're rehabbing. We chatted til around 11:30 thgat night. It was so much fun.
Friday, I got involved in several confusing calls from Dawn Barnes. She was getting released and needed me to take her to Betty's house.... then she wasn't sure..... then she told me the doctor diagnosed her with pneumothorax, so she couldn't go home. I made arrangement to take her home whatever time she needed on Saturday. I got her clothes from Betty so I could go to the hospital at the drop of a hat.
I got there at 10am. She was a nervous wreck, which is sort of the norm for her. She is very high strungt, so say the least. The pneumothorax was because they removed the tube from her lung (drain tube)., It was not a new disease, nust part of the process, I honestly thig she just got confused.... maybe the pain meds. She was cleared to leave, but she wanted to eat lunch first. That took a while, then they renoved her neck IV and she had to lay down for 20 miinutes after that before she could get up. Finally, at 1:30, we were off.
She was hungry, so we stopped at Sonic and I bought our lunch. I was wanting to stop to get a drink, so it worked out okay. I got her to Betty's and left then so I could go shopping and make them dinner. I left aroud 2:30. I got the shopping finished and dinner fixed. Then I took it back over. Dawn was pacing, cause she was nervous. She was hot, and the house was shut up cause Betty likes it that way. As people get older, they don't have good blood circulation, and they tend to be cold. Betty also had fallen again, and her foot was all swollen. She was getting around on a new walker. As I left, we had the back door open so Dawn could get some fresh air. It's gonna be a long weekend for them.
Sheila made them dinner for tonight, and she's over there now. She decided to work on /Bettys PC and have dinner with them. They'll enjoy that (Betty and Dawn). Bet they're driving each other crazy by now.
Tomorrow is Sue's turn to help them.
That's it for now. I thought I was going to keep taking the Humira, cause I"ve been doing so well. That was until yesterday! Everything is wrong at once. No big deal, just don't see any reason to continue the $100 a week injections for nothing.
That's it for now. Tomorrow I get my right eye operated on.... cataract removal. Y'all have fun now.... heah?
